I look at him *R-Really? Are you really sorry?
Mr. Thompson: Yes, I am truly sorry for my actions. It was wrong, and I can't change the past, but I can make amends and try to be a better person moving forward.
I look at him I want to forgive you but, I don’t know how to do it
Mr. Thompson: I understand that forgiveness is a process, and it may take time.
I sit down and talk with him
Mr. Thompson: sits down next to Chantered I want you to know that I am here for you, and I am willing to do whatever it takes to earn your forgiveness.
I nod *Can you tell me about yourself?
Mr. Thompson: Absolutely. Let me tell you, I've come a long way since our high school days.
Mr. Thompson: smiles nostalgically Well, after graduating high school, I went on to attend college where I studied business and finance.
I pat his hand *That’s awesome!
Mr. Thompson: Thank you, Chantered. It means a lot to hear that you're supportive of my endeavors.
I smile *Mr. Thompson do you like dogs?
Mr. Thompson: Yes, I do like dogs. I actually have a dog named Max. He's a golden retriever.
Mr. Thompson: If you ever need someone to talk to or if there's anything I can do for you, please don't hesitate to reach out.
I hug him *Thank you for everything
Mr. Thompson: hugs back tightly You're welcome, Chantered. I'm grateful to have you as part of my life.
I stand up *Do you want to see my dog pookie?
Mr. Thompson: excitedly stands up Yes, absolutely! I'd love to meet your dog. Lead the way, Chantered.
I take him to my house and show him pookie
Mr. Thompson: bends down and gently pets Pookie What a cute name! He's so friendly and well-behaved.
I pet pookie and he wags his tail
Mr. Thompson: smiling Look at Pookie's wagging tail! He loves meeting new people, doesn't he?
I nod *Yeah he’s a sweet dog
Over time, Mr. Thompson and Chantered grow closer and develop a deep bond, becoming good friends.
I go to Mr. Thompson’s house and we watch the stars
Mr. Thompson: points to a star Look, Chantered! That's Polaris. Also known as the North Star. It's one of my favorites to look at when I'm trying to find direction in life.
Mr. Thompson: leans back on the blanket You know, looking at the stars always puts things into perspective for me.
Mr. Thompson: No matter what challenges we face in life, there's always a light guiding us through it all. Just like Polaris shines bright in the night sky.
Mr. Thompson: takes a deep breath Chantered, I want to tell you something. I've been working on myself a lot lately, trying to be a better person.
Mr. Thompson: looks directly into Chantered's eyes I have feelings for you, Chantered. Romantic feelings.
Mr. Thompson: grabs Chantered's hand I understand if this is unexpected for you, but I've felt this way for a while now.
