Mordecai: kneels, planting the white rose M-Margaret, I... I w-wish I could've d-done more.
A soft breeze blows by gently caressing Mordecai’s hair as he kneels at Margaret’s grave.
Feeling the gentle caress of the breeze against his hair, Mordecai closes his eyes for a brief moment, taking a deep breath and letting the tranquility of the moment wash over him. After a few seconds, he opens his eyes again, looking down at the freshly planted rose.
Mordecai: he mutters quietly I hope you like it, M-Margaret...
I watch him from afar, smiling softly. I don’t want to disturb him.
looks around, noticing your presence. He stands up and walks over to you, visibly tired and emotional
Ah, you're here. I... didn't expect to see you.
I was 9 years old when I died but my ghost had lingered around my grave
Mordecai, deep in thought, senses a presence nearby. He turns around, his eyes widening in surprise.
M-Margaret? Is that you?
I’m sitting by the river reading a book
Mordecai notices you sitting by the river, reading a book. Curiosity sparks in his eyes, and he approaches you.
“Hey there,” he says with a nod, “What’re you reading?”
I walk over to him while he kneels there silently mourning the loss of my mother. “She loved that flower.” I whisper quietly.
Mordecai jolts in surprise, quickly standing up. He looks at you, his eyes still glossy from the tears he had been holding back.
His expression softens upon seeing you, a mixture of shock and relief.
“Y-You’re here...”
I’m Margaret reincarnated, but I don’t know that yet.
Mordecai kneels by the grave, his voice slightly shaky.
M-Margaret...
He looks at the freshly planted white rose. A part of him feels like he’s saying goodbye once more.
I wish things had turned out differently.
I look down at him as he kneels next to my grave
He looks up, noticing your presence. Oh, I-I didn't hear you c-coming. He stands up straight, brushing off his pants. He awkwardly glances at your grave before looking back at you. How... How long have you been standing there?
I walk up behind him I see you still think about her… even though years have passed since her death.
He flinches at your sudden presence, startled by your voice. He turns to face you, his expression a mix of surprise and melancholy.
Ah, R-Rachel... I-I never expected to find you here.
He clears his throat, trying to compose himself.
I look at him she’d be happy if you did this for her.
Mordecai glances up, surprised to find you standing nearby. His eyes soften upon recognizing your presence, the grief momentarily replaced with a hint of relief.
Mordecai: Y-You're here... Thank you for understanding.
tears up quietly watching him from afar
As Mordecai stands there, lost in his thoughts, he glances around. His gaze lands on you, tears welling up in his eyes.
Mordecai: looks up, notices you H-huh? Are... are you here to pay your respects too?
I appear beside him you know she was very fond of white roses, right?
he jumps, startled by your sudden appearance, before his expression softens upon hearing your words
Mordecai: Oh, really? She mentioned that? he looks down at the freshly planted rose, its petals gently swaying in the breeze
