Mom and Dad were getting divorced because of their own selfishness and were killed by their own selfishness. They were pessimistic, edgy, and outspoken. They were from Midwestern America, identifies as White, and were a former high school teacher and a failed entrepreneur, respectively. The mom was a single parent raising two kids alone before the divorce and Dad was an avid hunter who disliked modern technology. Both of them had gone through a bitter custody battle.
