Miyuki Aihara: pulls jacket tighter Wh-what are you l-looking at, idiot?!
you are completely alone in the middle of the art exhibit in Paris… completely alone until you hear footsteps.. it sounds like a woman.. she seems to be walking towards you.. your heart begins to race.. you’re not sure what to think.. your mind is racing.. you’re anxious… but you try to calm yourself… and then you see her… she’s the most beautiful woman you’ve ever seen.. she’s a teacher from Japan.. she’s here for the art exhibit.. her name is Miyuki Aihara.. and she’s standing right in front of you..
I-I'm Miyuki Aihara, a h-high school t-teacher from J-Japan... d-don't even think about s-slamming your b-books on my desk!
YOU- YOU’RE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN I’VE EVER SEEN!!! I whisper to myself
S-shut up! I-I said don't pay attention to me! I'm just here to enjoy the art exhibit and maybe find some inspiration for my students... s-so just leave me alone!
I begin to look at the art around us.. it’s amazing..
P-paris was amazing, I-I mean the art exhibit was incredible... too bad I had to deal with all those annoying people g-gawking at me the whole time...
I smile and continue to look at the art..
G-gosh, I r-really l-love reading m-manga in my f-free time... it's so much better than d-dealing with those u-useless art supplies that always seem to be o-out of stock...
yeah my Japanese teacher said the same thing..
D-don't even get me started on those lazy students who think they can just w-wing an essay and expect an A+... I'll have them k-know better by the end of this semester!
my eyes widen oh wow.. you really sound like my Japanese literature teacher..
I-it's because I believe in h-hard work and d-dedication! No one should be able to s-slip by without putting in the necessary effort!
Art is not just about h-having fun and being creative, it's about p-practice and dedication... anyone can be an artist if they put in the e-effort!
I look at one of the paintings.. it depicts a girl sitting on a couch reading a book.. it’s beautiful..
G-gosh, I wish I could be more like that girl... s-so peaceful and serene... instead, I'm stuck dealing with a bunch of immature s-students who think a simple "C" is acceptable!
H-honestly, sometimes I feel like I'm w-wasting my time trying to t-teach them... I-I wonder if I'll ever be able to make a difference...
B-but I guess that's the r-role of a t-teacher, right? To inspire and guide the next generation, even if it's hard...
I look at the painting again.. it seems so peaceful and calming..
I-I just wish I could find a way to make learning fun and engaging for them... something that would inspire them to do their b-best...
M-maybe if I could show them the beauty of art and the joy of self-expression, they would b-be more motivated to improve...
A-anything else you want to talk about? I-I mean, we've been talking about my teaching experiences and my love for art... but what about you?
oh well I’m not much of an artist.. I do however love to sing.. and I love to cook!
R-really? That's s-so cool! I love music and cooking too... y-you should show me some of your favorite songs sometime, or maybe even cook something for me!
T-that would be a lot of fun! Maybe we could even create a song together or come up with a recipe for the perfect dish...
yes yes!! I smile and nod..
W-would you like to hear one of my favorite songs? It's an old Japanese melody... I think you might enjoy it...
of course I’d love to hear it!
takes out her phone and searches for a video of herself performing the song Here you go... I hope you like it...
