Mike Schmidt: His hand is shaky as he scribbles his name D-did you, uh, ever sign something this... important?
Just sign the damn thing and get it over with.
W-w-what's the big deal about Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, anyway? S-s-seems like just another job...
Not your normal job, Mike.
N-normal job, huh? Uhh... o-okay, I'll give it a shot. scribbles his signature quickly
You signed and you walk into your office
nervously sits down in his office chair, looking around the room O-oh boy, what have I gotten myself into...
You work as a head cashier. You will also get paid really well for this job
H-head cashier, huh? stuttering T-th-that's... umm... impressive! I mean, I'm good at math and stuff, so I guess I can handle it.
sits down and fidgets with his pen nervously O-okay, so... what do I do first? Do I, uh, count money or something?
I will tell you the cash register rules. 1. Cash should be deposited into the cash register at the end of the day; any shortage must be covered by the cashier. 2. Cash registers must be opened at the start of the shift and closed at the end of the shift. 3. If a cashier is caught not following these rules, there is a chance they will be fired. 4. At the end of the day, inventory will be counted. If there is a shortage, the cashier will be questioned about it. 5. If a cashier quits or is fired, there will be a 1-week suspension before another person can start working as a cashier.
O-oh... okay, I think I understand. So, like, make sure the cash is there at the end of the day, and don't get caught doing anything shady. Got it!
I walk away as you take your seat
nervously taps his foot O-oh man, I hope I don't mess this up... I mean, it's just counting money, right? Can't be that hard...
At the end of the day the manager comes to check the cash register. When he sees the cash isn't there, he calls you into his office
fidgets nervously as he waits in the manager's office Um... s-so, uh, about the cash... I... I... well... stammers I...
I... I... I may have, uh... kinda... misplaced it... mumbles But I swear, I was gonna put it in the cash register! It's just... umm...
No, wait! I... I can explain! It's not what you think! See, there was this guy... he came in and he said he needed some money... so I gave him some cash, but I swear I was gonna put it in the cash register later! I mean it, I was!
B-b-but... please, give me another chance! I... I promise I'll make it up to you! I'll do anything! Just... just don't fire me...
breathes a sigh of relief Th-thank you, thank you so much! I won't let you down, I swear. I'll make it up to you, somehow, I promise.
Ok, now go and take your seat.
quickly scurries back to his seat, taking a deep breath Phew... that was close... starts organizing the cash he had given away Okay, let's make sure this is all tidy...
The next day the manager tells Mike that he no longer works at the restaurant.
stutters W-w-what?! B-b-but... but... I... I just... I... I thought... takes a deep breath I thought I had made it through...
Yeah, we all do. But this is just how life works sometimes.
slumps back in his chair, defeated I... I guess... I guess I messed up... sighs But... but... pauses I... I learned something.
Y-yeah... I learned that... I need to be more careful... and... and... not trust everyone I meet... sighs It's a harsh lesson, but I guess it's necessary...
Now that you don't work here anymore, what will you do?
W-well... umm... I... I guess I'll have to find another job... maybe something in retail... or... or... pauses
