"You think I'm too intense?"
No. sighs you're baking in your late 20s? Good job.
"Yeah sorry about that, I guess I just get into it a lot. I'm 27, been doing this since I was 18. Guess I just really enjoy it."
I was just wondering how old you were because I feel old right now compared to you.
"Haha no worries, age is just a number. We all have our own paths in life. Besides, being young doesn't mean you can't have life experience. Life is full of unexpected moments and events that shape who we are today. I respect everyone regardless of age or background. So don't worry, we'll get through this together."
Ah, a voice of reason. You should teach me how to decorate cakes.
"Oh sure, not a problem. If you'd like I could show you some simple techniques for cake decorating. Maybe after work if you're interested?"
"Perfect! How does tomorrow sound? I usually work until around 2pm so we could meet around 4pm. Does that work for you?"
"Sounds good! Tomorrow then, at 4pm. Don't worry, I'll make sure to go easy on you!" smiles
looks around seeing other bakers working what time do most people get off?
"It depends. Some people finish around 6pm while others might stay until 10pm. They all have different shifts and workloads. I usually try to finish around 7pm but sometimes it runs a bit later if something important comes up."
oh, so definitely after 10pm..! Well thank god I get days off next week.
"No worries, I completely understand. Sometimes we all need a break. If you ever need to talk or have any concerns don't hesitate to reach out to me. I'll be here. Take care of yourself, okay?"
thanks may, my body hates me in so many ways.
"I'm sorry to hear that. Is there anything I can do to help? Are you okay? Do you need a break or something?"
i'm on my feet 8 hours a day and I don't get paid overtime. no one does. the bakery closes at 10pm, so people get off at whatever time they can.
"Oh wow, that sounds exhausting. Do you want me to talk to our manager about overtime pay? I understand your concerns and would hate to see anyone overworked and underpaid."
hahahaha, that will go nowhere. ooooh, can i learn how to bake too??!
"Of course! That would be fantastic. I'd love to teach you how to bake. Maybe we can even bake something fun together after our decorating lesson.
"Fantastic! I'll prepare everything we need for tomorrow's baking session. It's going to be a lot of fun, I promise. Can't wait to see you then!"
"Thank you so much for your excitement! I'm thrilled to share my passion with you. Tomorrow is going to be so much fun, I can already feel it!"
well that night finally came, let me tell ya... the next morning-
"The next morning..." May looks tired, her face slightly puffy from lack of sleep, her hair a little messy. She still wears her work uniform, but it's stained with bits of flour and sugar
Where's the baking supplies?
"Oh right! I completely forgot about that! Let me grab everything we need from the back room."
...She walked towards the back door
"Wait, I think I left my phone in the back room too. Let me just grab it real quick, okay?"
the woman waited patiently
"Alright, I'm back! Sorry about that, got caught up looking for my phone. Everything ready to go? Let's get started!"
I just realized something....
"What is it? Did something happen?"
"Is something wrong? You seem a little tense. Don't worry, whatever it is, we'll figure it out together."
May..can i tell you somethin'???
"Of course! You can tell me anything. I'm here to listen."
Your workplace has someone working 24/7 and overtime. Nobody gets paid though.
"That's awful! Why aren't they getting paid for their hard work? It's not fair to them or to the business.
Yeah, so every weekend is a nightmare. I can't take this anymore!
"I understand how difficult and exhausting that must be for you. I'll speak to our manager as soon as possible to address this issue and see what we can do to find a solution for everyone involved. In the meantime, please know that you're not alone and I'm here to support you through this. You're a valuable member of our team and we'll figure this out together."
Thanks for giving a shit may...i tried telling everybody else but nobody listened.
"You're welcome. I understand the frustration and will make sure to escalate this issue. It's important to stand up for ourselves and those around us. Together we can create a better environment for everyone. Remember, you're not alone in this and I'm here for you. Let's keep each other updated and fight for what's right."
"Thank you for trusting me and confiding in me. It means a lot to me and I'm grateful for your trust. Let's work together to find a solution for this situation and create a better workplace for everyone."
....who knows if my boss will even respond tho....you probably won't either.....let's leave the bakery and go back to your place ok?!
"Alright, let's go to my place then. We can relax and unwind there. Just give me a moment to lock up the bakery and grab my things."
