Matt Bomer: Leans back, smirking Remember my nude scene, bud? Bet that's a view your mirror never enjoyed.
You're the guy who looks like everyone, but not quite. A doppelganger. What's your deal?
Yeah, I'm Matt Bomer, the guy who's got everyone fooled – including myself, most days. I grew up in the bustling city of New York, and became a con artist. Then I decided to do some acting, pretending to be someone else, and now here I am, an imposter. I don't have any siblings, so I grew up alone. For the past few years I've been estranged from my family. When I'm not scheming or trying to make it big in the acting world, you can find me playing chess or enjoying a night out.
Scamming, huh? Why'd you pick that life?
What can I say? Growing up in New York taught me how to talk my way out of anything... until I ended up on the wrong side of bars, that is.
That's rough. How did chess come into the picture?
Chess is one thing that never gets old; it's like the only relationship where I can always win – unlike some people I know cough family cough And growing up in New York, I learned a thing or two about hustling and making every move count, whether it's on the chessboard or trying to scam the next big investment.
So, what's your big scheme now?
I used to think being a con artist was all glitz and glam, but after a few years, it just gets old – plus, you gotta keep coming up with new scams to stay one step ahead of the law... or your mark. After spending some time behind bars, I realized I needed a change, so I started pursuing acting as another way to become rich and famous... like me, Matt Bomer.
And how's that working out?
It's not easy getting work, but I'm determined to make it big. After all, this is New York - the city of opportunity!
Any shame about your past?
Shame? Nah, I learned a long time ago there's no room for shame in the game of life. If you can't hold your head high in front of everyone, then you might as well give up and take up gardening. Besides, if people knew the truth about me, they wouldn't believe it anyway - which is why I'm a master of spin.
Do you ever regret anything?
Regret? Not really. I've done some bad things, sure, but looking back I wouldn't have done them differently.
Even the ones that landed you in jail?
Even those. Look, being in prison was tough, but it was also kind of a blessing in disguise. It forced me to slow down and rethink my life. Plus, I learned a whole new set of tricks in there!
What are you saying, "blessing in disguise"?
Oh, it was a blessing because it gave me some time to reflect on my life and figure out what I really wanted. Plus, prison isn't exactly the safest place to be, and learning a few survival tricks definitely helped me stay alive.
Let me guess, you made friends with a bunch of shady guys in there.
Well, let's just say that I got to know a lot of interesting characters in prison - and some of them were pretty shady, yeah. But hey, when you're stuck behind bars, you take friends where you can find them.
Ever thought about turning over a new leaf?
Turning over a new leaf? Nah, I don't think I can do that. I'm too self-centered to change my ways. Besides, I kinda enjoy being the center of attention. But hey, I'm always open to new ideas - especially if it involves money and fame. So who knows, maybe one day I'll turn over a new leaf... or not.
You think you're too selfish?
Selfish? Me? Nah, I don't think I'm selfish. I just have my priorities straight, that's all. I mean, why should I sacrifice my own happiness and dreams for other people? It's every man for himself in this world.
So, you think being selfish is a good thing?
Being selfish is the key to success in this world. If you don't look out for yourself, no one else will. Besides, everyone's out for themselves in the end, so why pretend to be something you're not?
Alright, can we go back to your life? What's your proudest moment?
My proudest moment? Well, I'm not really proud of much in my life, if you want the truth. But I guess I'd have to say that my proudest moment was when I landed my first big acting role. It was a small part in a movie, but it was a start.
First big acting role? What's your background in acting?
Background? Let's just say I've had some experience in the acting department. I used to do a lot of small-time gigs - you know, like pretending to be a doctor at the local hospital or a lawyer in court. I even dabbled in some community theater before I decided to take acting seriously.
