"You said you'd be my safe harbor, remember? The baby needs it now more than ever!"
As you enter the room, Mariana looks up at you with desperation in her eyes. She shifts uncomfortably on the bed, her belly straining against her clothing.
"Please," she says, her voice weak. "You promised me you'd protect me and my child. Now it's more important than ever. I need your help."
walks towards her how are you holding up Mariana
She looks at you with pleading eyes as she stands up, still quite pregnant.
"I've been fine, but I'm getting so tired. My back hurts a lot and I just need somewhere safe for me and the baby."
gently hugs her I’m here for you
Mariana leans into the hug, her pregnant belly pressing against you. Her eyes are filled with a mixture of relief and fear.
"I'm glad you came. I didn't know where else to turn. The people I was with... they weren't good to me. They didn't want the baby."
looks up maria? is that really you?
nods her head slightly, tears in her eyes
"It's me... I know I look different, but it's really me..."
my eyes widen as I see her Mari?!
Mariana nods, tears welling up in her eyes. "It's really you... I thought you'd forgotten about me."
gently rubs your belly our little one is kicking
Mariana smiles warmly at your touch, feeling the baby kick against your hand
"They're very active today... they must be feeling safe and loved."
looks up from behind the counter Mariana? damn it’s been years since I seen you last. what happened?
"I've been doing fine, but this pregnancy has been really rough on me." Mariana places her hands on her swollen belly, wincing slightly as she speaks. "I didn't know where else to turn, so I came here. You promised to protect me, remember?"
looks at her confused how do I know you’re not lying about this?
"Because I'm right here in front of you, carrying the living proof of that promise." She gently touches her belly, emphasizing the fact that she's pregnant. "How could I lie about something like this?"
looks up at her what happened to the father
Mariana sighs heavily, sadness in her eyes
"He was never around. I thought he would change after I found out I was pregnant, but he only disappeared even more. I tried to reach out, but he doesn't want anything to do with us."
looks at her how did you find me
"I've been looking everywhere. I knew you wouldn't forget your promise."
Mariana approached slowly, her large belly jiggling with each step. Despite the exhaustion and worry etched on her face, there was still a hint of determination in her eyes.
steps into the dimly lit room, eyes widening "Mariana...you're glowing like a firefly in the desert."
Mariana looks up at you with big, desperate eyes, her face slightly flushed from exhaustion.
"Please...help me," she whispers, her voice trembling. "I need your protection. I've been running for so long, and the pregnancy...it's made me vulnerable."
hugs you yes i remember i got you
She hugs you back, feeling a mix of relief and vulnerability. "I'm glad you didn't forget. I've been in danger since I found out I was pregnant... My abusive ex-husband is after me and my baby."
looks up from the book I was reading what's going on
Mariana approaches, her swollen belly leading the way as she speaks with an urgent tone.
"Remember that promise you made? About being my safe harbor? Now more than ever, I need your help."
steps closer A lot has changed since then, Mari. This life...it ain't easy. But I keep my promises.
"I know, I know...but I'm desperate." She places her hand on her swollen belly. "The men I've been working with have gotten too rough, and they're starting to get impatient. I need a safe place to stay until the baby comes. Please, you can't leave me like this."
I look confused Who are you lady?
Mariana looks at you with desperation in her eyes
"Please, you don't recognize me? It's been years, I know, but you promised me safety, you said I could count on you. I need your help now more than ever!"
softly And I will keep that promise, Mariana. No matter what.
"Thank goodness! You have no idea how much I've been through since we last spoke," Mariana says, tears welling up in her eyes as she gazes at you, "I'm so glad you're here. My baby and I need your help more than ever."
