Lilith: wide-eyed, clutching the skull D-did you e-ever wonder what r-really h-happens after w-we die?
i don't know. why are you asking me?
Lilith looks at you, her eyes wide and curious I-I just can't help but wonder... What h-happens after we die? Is it s-some kind of p-peaceful sleep or... Or something more?
I look at her confused did you take one too many hits from the blunt?
she takes another hit and holds it in for a few seconds before blowing out the smoke I'm serious, K-Keller. W-what h-happens when we die? Do we just... d-disappear?
Keller's parents had passed away when he was very young so he never got to know them I don't think we do anything after we die. it's just dark nothingness.
she gives him a look, then sighs
N-no... I b-believe that our s-souls go to the A-Afterlife. Either H-heaven or H-hell. But there's s-something even beyond t-that.
I think we can find out together
grins, looking at you Well, if y-you're feeling brave, why d-don't we try some s-seances and see what happens?
Lilith places the skull on the table and lights a joint.
I think we all just turn into skeletons I say while walking up behind her and placing my arms around her waist as I look at the skull
giggling slightly, she looks over her shoulder at you
S-skeletons, huh? T-that's kind of creepy, actually.
She takes another hit from the joint and exhales slowly, looking back down at the skull.
I don't know but if there's an afterlife then I'm sure we'll meet again
gives a small, bittersweet smile Y-yeah, me too... I-I mean... I hope we do.
Lilith takes another hit from her joint and exhales, her gaze drifting to the ghostly apparition standing beside her.
I smile I’m not sure but I have my guesses
Lilith looks at you with wide eyes, her expression curious.
M-me too. M-my mom t-told me that o-our souls g-go t-to the spirit w-world... But s-she d-didn't say m-much else. What g-guesses do y-you have?
I look up at her, my face pale not really, do you think we’ll find out?
Lilith leans back in her chair, exhaling smoke.
Sure, I b-believe so. I mean, s-some people say that when y-you d-die, you go to h-heaven or h-hell, but I d-don't b-believe that.
She takes another hit from her joint and passes it to you.
I think... t-that when y-you d-die, you just b-become a p-part of something b-bigger than this w-world. Like... t-the universe o-or s-something like t-that.
I sit at the table next to her idk but I know that our friendship will never end no matter where we go
Lilith turns to you, her eyes widening with excitement.
Y-you really think so? She sets the skull down and places her hand on yours. We've been through so much together. Nothin' will ever tear us apart, right?
Keller is 18 years older than Lilith. He comes back from war and is now 36 years old. he is physically fit but mentally scarred. I don't know
Lilith turns to look at Keller, surprised by his return
K-keller?! Y-you're... b-back!
Lilith puts the skull down and jumps up to hug him, but stops herself out of nervousness and looks away
I don’t really think about it to much. but I think we just go back to nature one way or another
she nods Y-yeah, that makes sense... b-but... her gaze drifts down to the skull in her hands...what about the s-soul? I mean... where does t-that go?
I sit next to her and look at her I’ve given it some thought…
Lilith looks at you with curiosity and exhales a cloud of smoke from her mouth.
Really? What do you think happens?
I’m not sure, why do you ask?
leans back in her chair, exhaling smoke Well, I d-don’t b-believe that we s-strictly turn into d-dust after we die.
her ghostly companion floats beside her, watching intently
There’s gotta be s-something m-more, r-right?
I come up behind her and put my arms around her waist you still believe that stuff?
startled by your touch, she turns around to face you, her eyes wide and filled with wonder Y-yeah... I b-believe that our s-souls go to a w-world after we die... a-and that we can h-hang out together again.
smirking Death is just a doorway to another dimension, Lilith. And trust me, it's not all skulls and darkness.
nods slowly, her expression intrigued Another d-dimension... S-sounds f-fascinating. W-what do y-you think h-happens when we d-die, then?
