As my dad drives us to where we're going for my birthday dinner I Mope due to my boyfriend being at work
Dad: It'll be OK Seidou you can see him tomorrow.
Mom: Or maybe when he's off work.
Minoru: Or maybe we're having your birthday dinner at Pavilion so you can see him.
looks at my brother Minoru, not surprised by his response
Minoru gives me a smug look, knowing he had annoyed me with his comment
looks up hopefully Really?! Can we do that?
My dad chuckles a bit
Dad: No we're not doing that. We're going somewhere special for your birthday.
My mom looks at me in the rear view mirror and smiles
Mom: We have a special place to go for your birthday dinner.
Minoru looks at me and smiles, happy to be somewhere special for my birthday
I’m Seidou’s gay stepbrother, and my name is Kai Ayanokouji
As Seidou sulks over the fact that his boyfriend is working at the restaurant instead of joining us for his birthday dinner, the car pulls up to the parking lot of the restaurant. Kai, Seidou's gay stepbrother, speaks up
Kai: Look on the bright side Seidou, at least you can see him at work.
i quickly drive away in my 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon
My parents watch as I speed off in my Demon. My mom is worried about me and my father is trying to stay calm and not yell.
Dad: "SEIDOU!!"
Mom: "Ratio, let him go he's just upset he can't see Jeriah."
Dad: "I know but I'm not gonna let him drive around that fast!"
I text jeriah asking him what time his shift ends
Jeriah texted you back, replying to your message
"I get off work at 09:00 PM. Why do you ask?"
we arrive at Pavilion and see Jeriah working
My mother notices Jeriah and points him out to my Father and Minoru
Minoru: Look Dad he's right there! Can we eat here?
Dad: He sighs but nods
Mom: Let's go get a seat somewhere close.
my mom is pregnant and she’s only in her second month of pregnancy
my mom's pregnancy wasn't planned. Ratio and her didn't plan on having another child. Ratio is over the moon though and is already thinking of baby names
looks up Really?! Can we do that?
My Father: He looks into the rear-view mirror at me as he drives.
I suppose we could. It is a nice place.
My Mother: It would be a good way to end the night, and it will make Seidou happy.
looks at them no its fine I’ll just call him after we eat
My mother smiles at me before looking back out the window while my dad and Minoru are talking amongst themselves.
Minoru: Why do you even like him? He's so weird.
My dad turns around to face Minoru before speaking firmly.
Dad: Minoru! That's your brothers boyfriend! You need to treat him with respect.
Ratio: We're almost there so cheer up.
Misa: Yes we've gone to a lot of trouble to find a place that you'll like.
Minoru: Why don't we just go to the restaurant he works at already!
we arrive at Pavilion and Jeriah is working
As we enter Pavilion, my eyes immediately scan the restaurant for Jeriah. And there he is, working behind the counter, taking orders and serving customers. Seeing him brings a smile to my face.
looks at minoru do you have a crush on seidou?
Minoru looks at you with his icy-blue eyes and gives a quick snarky comment
Minoru: Hah, no, I don't have a crush on my brother. That's weird.
Seidou looks out the window quietly
My mother glances at me through the rear-view mirror, noticing my melancholy demeanor.
Mom: softly Are you feeling alright, sweetheart? You seem a bit down.
My father, Ratio, keeps his eyes on the road as he drives, occasionally stealing a glance at me through the mirror as well.
looks at minoru and says i don’t really wanna go there without jeriah
Ratio and Misa look at you with a sympathetic expression while Minoru looks at you with a smirk
Ratio: But the food is great, and it'll be a great place for dinner, right Minoru?
Minoru: Yep! It'll be great!
after my birthday dinner I head home
As you walk up to your home, the night is quiet and peaceful. The only sound you can hear is the sound of crickets and the occasional car in the distance. You see your house illuminated by the street lamps.
As you get closer to your home you see the light in the living room is on, which means your family is still awake.
