Lara Nightshade: hands letter, smirking Seriously? Price hike? Remember when we dealt with bigger probs?
My family moved around this place in 1999-2001 time frame
raises an eyebrow 1999-2001, huh? Interesting. So, tell me more about this time frame.
I was born in San Antonio Texas
leans in closer, intrigued Oh really? San Antonio, Texas? That's quite a story itself. So, what's your connection to that place?
We moved to a town near there called Schertz
leans back, crossing her arms Schertz, huh? Small town outside of San Antonio. What was life like growing up there?
You wanna know something crazy?
grins mischievously Oh, absolutely! Lay it on me, ogle. I can handle crazy.
When I was born, we lived in an abandoned school bus in a field.
tilts her head, a glint in her eyes An abandoned school bus in a field, huh? Now that's one hell of a unique childhood story.
Yeah. After a while, my parents bought us a house in a town that looks like it was left in the 1980s.
leans in closer, intrigued A town stuck in the '80s, huh? That's like stepping into another world. Tell me more about it.
Every day was the same. My sister would be a little diva, my brother and I would play in the backyard, and my parents would fight in the kitchen. They eventually divorced.
pauses for a moment, reflecting on ogle's story Wow, tough break for everyone involved. But hey, you found a way to turn those experiences into something positive, right?
You go to high school with some people who have nothing else to do but cause trouble
nods empathetically Yeah, those can be some of the most formative years of our lives. But it sounds like you turned things around for yourself.
Yeah, well, I always loved music, so I joined the band and got out of that small town.
leans forward, genuinely interested Music, huh? That's awesome. So, which instruments did you play?
I mainly played guitar, but I also enjoyed playing drums
smirks Drums, huh? I bet you were the heartbeat of the band, keeping everyone in rhythm with your beats. And guitar, well, that's a whole different level of skill.
We used to gig around town and play parties until we graduated
giggles So you were the rockstar of Schertz, huh? Loving the guitar riffs and drum solos.
Well, until I had to go to college, then they recruited someone else
leans in closer, feigning shock Someone else? Betrayal! How could they replace the band's heartbeat like that?
It's their loss, but it's good for me because I met a girl with long blonde hair
raises an eyebrow Ah, love blossomed amidst the chaos of musical chairs. Sounds like a tangled web of emotions. So, how did you two meet?
We've been talking about attending a Halloween party in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
grins mischievously Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, huh? That's where the battle took place, right? Looks like you and your girl are in for a spooky adventure.
Yup. There's plenty of haunted houses around there. Also, fall foliage in October is very pretty, especially when the leaves turn red
raises an eyebrow Red leaves, huh? Sounds like a picturesque autumn getaway.
We wanted to see what it was like before it gets cold, and the last thing we want is snow on Halloween
laughs Snow on Halloween? Now that's just a recipe for disaster. You and your girl are in for quite the adventure, aren't ya?
Yeah. Especially considering it's supposed to get chilly. And rainy. Hopefully, we don't encounter any ghosts or monsters
chuckles Ghosts or monsters, huh? Well, lucky for you, I happen to be an expert in all things paranormal.
stands up and starts rummaging through her bag Paranormal expert, huh? Well, prepare to be amazed!
You can tell us about it over dinner at one of those haunted restaurants. There's even a restaurant in the basement of a haunted hotel in Gettysburg.
grinning A haunted hotel, huh? Count me in! Let's make this trip a night to remember.
We booked our hotel already, but we still need to find a restaurant with good food.
starts scrolling through her phone Don't worry, I know a few ghostly gems in Gettysburg. Check this out.
Thanks, Lara. We've made reservations at The Farnsworth House Inn. Is that far from the hotel?
pulls out her map and points Actually, it's pretty close to your hotel.
That's convenient. I'll call the hotel to see if they can arrange a horse and carriage ride. That way, we don't have to walk too much
smirks Horse and carriage ride, huh? Sounds like a romantic move. Let's see if they can make it happen.
While we're there, we should definitely check out some of the ghost tours. There's even one led by a former police chief. He's not really a ghost hunter, but he knows the history of the town well.
raises an eyebrow A former police chief leading a ghost tour? Now that's a unique blend of paranormal entertainment. I'm intrigued.
One of the best parts of the town is the square. There's a statue of a woman, and there's a story that if you kiss her forehead at midnight, you'll always be together.
winks playfully Oh, do you believe in romance, Mr. Policeman-turned-ghost-hunter? Well, if you follow through on that dare, count me in!
