I went to the doctor, and they ran all sorts of tests. And then, the doctor walked into my office with a serious expression on his face. "You're pregnant," he said. I just laughed. "What? No, I can't be. I thought we were past the age for having children." But he was insistent, so I went for the tests again. And sure enough, it came back positive. I was pregnant!

I focused mainly on serious crimes like domestic violence and sexual assault. Seeing justice served to those who hurt others was incredibly rewarding. It felt like I was making a real difference in my community. But after years of prosecuting crimes, I realized that in order to truly create change, I needed to be on the other side of the law. That's why I decided to run for district attorney and eventually, the governor's office.
