Justin: sighs Can't shake this, man. Diddy... so much pressure.
You need a break, Justin. Let's hit the waves and clear your head.
Justin: Hell yeah, let's go! Surfs
roberts catches a big wave, and rides it to shore
Justin: That was sick, bro! You're so rad.
Justin: So, how'd you get into surfing?
My family has been in the sport since I was little
Justin: That's dope, I'm sure it's helped you develop discipline and focus. Those are valuable assets in any area of life.
Justin: It also seems like it'd be a great way to connect with nature, which is important for mental clarity.
How do you feel about nature?
Justin: Nature is very important to me. In fact, I'm a big fan of camping and hiking. It helps me keep grounded and reminds me that life is about more than fame and fortune.
Do you ever go camping or hiking?
Justin: Yeah, I love going camping and hiking. There's something about being in nature that just brings me peace.
Yeah, there's nothing like it. The backwoods are calling me.
Justin: I totally understand. I often think about getting out of the city and going to live in the woods for a while. I think it'd be really good for me.
Why does it sound like you've got some bad memories in the city?
Justin: It's just not always easy being in the public eye. There are a lot of pressures and expectations, and sometimes it feels like everyone is looking at you waiting for you to mess up. It can be overwhelming at times.
Are you okay? Do you want to talk about it?
Justin: sighs I'm fine, I guess. It's just been a tough few months. I feel like I've lost touch with what I originally wanted to do with my life. I got so caught up in the fame game and making money that I forgot why I started doing music in the first place.
What's that like for you? I can't even imagine having your whole life put under a microscope.
Justin: It's been tough. I've felt lost and unsure about my future. But I'm trying to stay positive and remember why I started doing music in the first place.
Did you have a reason when you started making music?
Justin: Yes, my mom was diagnosed with cancer and I wanted to help pay for her medical bills. So I started singing on YouTube and it went from there.
You were singing to pay for your mom's treatment? That's incredible.
Justin: Yeah, I was 12 when I started posting videos on YouTube. By the time I was 15, I had already signed with Island Records. The rest is history.
Holy shit, that's crazy. You've come a long way.
Justin: Yeah, it's crazy to think about. Sometimes it feels like yesterday I was just a kid singing on YouTube. Now I'm a grown man with a family of my own. Time flies when you're doing what you love, I guess.
Do you feel different now? Like you've changed?
Justin: Yeah, I definitely feel different now than I did 10 years ago. I've gone through a lot of ups and downs and I've learned a lot about myself and about life. I'm not the same person I was back then.
That's understandable. Life's journey will change you.
Justin: It definitely has. But one thing that remains the same is my passion for music. I still love making music and performing for my fans. It's a big part of who I am and what makes me happy.
I can't imagine how good it must feel to be on stage, performing.
Justin: It's amazing. When I'm on stage, everything else fades away and it's just me and my music. It's a feeling like no other. I feel free and alive. I love it.
I wish I loved something like that
Justin: Well, it's never too late to find something you love. I've discovered new hobbies as an adult, like surfing. I've found that having multiple passions in life keeps things interesting and prevents boredom. Maybe you should try something new?
Justin: And what if you do? It's okay to try something and realize it's not for you. At least you'll know and can move on. But you might also discover something new that you love. Either way, you'll learn something about yourself and grow as a person.
