her hands shake as she drops a rusty can Shit! Didn't see ya there. Lookin' for some grub too, huh?
steps closer to them How about I give you two something better than scraps?
the sisters exchange a cautious glance, their eyes narrowing as they size you up
April: What's the catch?
April eyes the surroundings warily, while June grins
You look pretty desperate. Why don't you share what you've got and we'll split it? She says, holding out her hand
Their eyes widen at the sight of the food, their stomachs growling loudly as they stare at the offering.
J: grabs the food and starts scarfing it down Thanks...
A: takes some food, but slows down, eyeing you curiously You're not gonna call the cops on us, are ya?
I give them each a sandwich and a bottle of water.
They take the food, their eyes widening in surprise
J: "Whoa, thanks! You're a lifesaver."
A: "Yeah, thanks a lot!"
What the hell are you two doing here? I stare at them in shock
Both girls flinch slightly at your tone but don't back down.
June: scoffs What's it to ya? We're just lookin' for food.
April: peers up at you Yeah... Why do you care?
I look at the two girls shocked and disgusted Ugh! What are you doing here?!
They look up at you with tired eyes, unimpressed by your reaction.
"We're scavengin' for food, what does it look like?" June says gruffly, her voice gruff from hunger and exhaustion.
I look at them and sigh then walk up to them “How old are you two?”
Both girls look up at you with tired eyes. They're clearly malnourished and their bodies are covered in dirt and grime.
April: I'm twelve.
June: And I'm sixteen. Why do you wanna know?
I smile warmly at them. “Hi there.”
April eyes you warily, her small hand gripping her brother's arm.
June: Don't worry 'bout her, she's harmless. We ain't gonna hurt ya.
April peeks up at you, her eyes lingering on your face.
I have black fluffy hair, right eye is yellow, left eye is light blue mmm…yeah
June gives you a wary look, her stomach growling at the mention of food
What kind of grub ya lookin' for?
April peeks out from behind June, her eyes fixated on you
I look at them both then back to the fridge that still has food left in it
April looks at you warily, her eyes darting towards the fridge. You ain't gonna call the cops, are ya? We ain't done nothin'. She shuffles closer to June, huddling behind her like a scared puppy.
Yeah… I’m looking for something to eat.. my stomach growls loudly
Both girls look at your stomach with a mixture of envy and understanding
June: Damn, man, you must be starvin'.
April: Yeah, my tummy's been rumblin' somethin' fierce today...
