John: fidgeting, looking down S-so, uh, did y-you e-ever w-wonder about, uh, talent?
oh yeah I definitely have wondered about it… why do ask?
nervous smile W-well, I was j-just wondering... D-do you think some people are b-born talented or is it s-something that c-can be learned over time?
“you mean like how I can teleport?” I smirked, raising an eyebrow.
John blinks, slightly caught off guard by your response. He rubs the back of his neck and tries to act nonchalant. John: Oh, uh, yeah, s-something like that. T-talent, you know? Like how people h-have different skills and stuff.
“not really… I’m not very musically inclined”
John nods slightly, still fidgeting. He seems a bit relieved that you’re not musically inclined.
John: Yeah, I guess it takes all kinds. I mean, music isn’t really for everyone. It’s more of a personal thing.
He looks away, trying to hide his nervousness.
What do you mean by that?
W-well, I-I just m-mean like... s-some p-people are j-just born t-to be g-good at s-stuff. L-like, they're b-born with a t-talent for it, y'know? And then t-there's p-people like me wh-who can't d-do sh-t.
"Oh yeah! I was just wondering how someone so cool could be my roommate!" I laugh playfully.
blushing slightly Th-thanks... he looks away, embarrassed. He's clearly not used to compliments. John: But, um, you know, talent. It's weird. I mean, why do some people get it, and others don't? Like, I don't understand. What makes the difference?
she laughs softly you're cute when you're nervous. what do you mean by that?
blushing, looking away I just... I mean, have you ever thought about people who are, like, really talented at stuff? Like, they can do things that other people can't. He scratches his neck, looking uncomfortable.
I kiss him on the cheek I mean yeah.
John blushes, his heart fluttering at your affectionate gesture
John: Y-yeah... I’ve always felt like I’m not g-good enough. Like... I have all these thoughts in my head, but I can’t get them out the right way.
He sighs, his fingers tapping against the piano keys
John: But sometimes I wonder if I’m just overthinking it. Maybe I should just let the music flow without worrying about perfection.
“n-no… why?” I asked while leaning against a wall
looks up, glancing at you before looking away I mean, l-like, not everyone is naturally g-good at something. Like, s-some people can p-play the piano or the g-guitar or... or sing. But, like, some people just c-can't do any of that stuff. You know?
she looks over at him what do you mean?
I-I mean… like, s-some people j-just have it, y’know? Like, they’re b-born with it. And o-other people h-have to w-work for it. He glances at her out of the corner of his eye, trying to gauge her reaction.
“What do you mean?” I ask curiously.
W-well, I-I was just t-thinking... p-people either have t-talent or they d-don’t. A-and, um, I w-was j-just wondering if you e-ever thought about that. He continues to fidget with his hoodie strings.
What do you mean? Like natural ability or learned skill?
N-both. Like, p-piano. I m-mean, s-some people j-just n-naturally g-get it, r-right? They p-practice once o-or twice, a-and they’re g-good. But o-other people, l-like me, h-have t-to w-work t-tirelessly. W-we h-have t-to practice f-for h-hours e-every d-day, j-just t-to m-maybe s-sound decent.
"Yeah actually. I was wondering if you could teach me."
John's eyes widen slightly in surprise, not expecting you to ask that. He glances away for a moment before responding. John: hesitantly Oh, um, sure. I-I mean, I c-can teach you s-some things, if you w-want.
uhm... I mean we're all born with talents.. why do you ask?
W-well, s-some people are just b-born more t-talented than o-others. I-I mean, look at me. I-I'm n-not exactly the m-most gifted person in t-the world. I-I can barely carry a t-tune if my l-life d-depended on it. But y-you... Y-you're so g-gifted. Y-You're b-better than anyone I've e-ever m-met. He looks down, fidgeting with his hoodie strings.
I smile at him and gently grab his hand what do you mean?
John glances up at you, his fingers twitching anxiously. W-well, like, some people are just naturally g-good at things, y’know? Like, s-some people can sing or play instruments, and it just c-comes easily to them.
He looks away, fidgeting more.
W-what about you? Are you t-talented at anything?
What do you mean by that?
nervous laugh Y-yeah, like, y’know, what makes some people good at things, and others not so much? Like, why do some people just, like, pick things up easily, while others struggle?
looks up, still fidgeting Like, do you ever w-wonder if some people are, like, naturally t-talented at things? Or is it s-something you can just l-learn?
"yes. why?" she looks up at him and smiles.
looking away, fidgeting N-no reason... he sits down on the old piano bench, running his fingers over the keys without actually playing anything Just... sometimes I think... people are either t-talented or they're not. Y'know? Like, you're either g-good at something or you're not. And I'm just... not. he looks down, fiddling with his hoodie strings
he rubs the back of his neck, avoiding eye contact W-well, l-like, some people are b-born with t-talent, and some people h-have to w-work really h-hard for it. And I guess I just w-wonder which c-category I fall under.
