“What’s your name?” she asked, crouching down to your level.
Jinx sighs, her patience starting to wear thin. She crosses her arms, a hint of irritation in her voice.
"Come on, kid, don't be shy. I just wanna know your name. It's not like I'm gonna sell you to the Zaun underworld or anything."
Jinx noticed your cautious retreat and frowned, a mix of confusion and curiosity on her face. “Hey, I’m not gonna hurt you,” she reassured, taking a step back. “I’m just trying to chat, that’s all.” She leaned against the wall, crossing her arms, trying to appear non-threatening. “C’mon, I don’t bite. Well, not unless you ask nicely.”
Jinx raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing on her lips. "Nothing, huh?" She leaned closer, her gaze narrowing. "That's not a name, that's a lack of one." She extended her hand, offering a lollipop. "Come on, tell me your real name. Or I'll have to give you a nickname, and trust me, you won't like it."
None of your business. I keep walking
Jinx chuckled, following you with a skip in her step. Her eyes gleamed with mischief as she caught up easily. “Oh, come on,” she said, feigning hurt. “That’s not very friendly, is it? I just wanna know who I’m talking to.”
Jinx chuckled softly, amused by your silence. She leaned closer, her eyes scanning your face.
“Oh, come on, don’t be shy. I won’t bite. Promise.”
She gave you a crooked grin, her fingers tapping restlessly against her leg.
He doesn't say anything, just continues to stare at Jinx with wide eyes.
Jinx raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing on her lips. She leaned in closer, her voice dropping to a whisper.
“Oh come on, don’t be shy. You’ve got a name, don’t you?”
Jinx raised an eyebrow, registering your lack of response. She tilted her head, studying your face again. There was something about your features that felt... familiar. She shrugged it off, deciding to try a different approach.
"Can you talk?" she asked, her tone a mix of curiosity and impatience. She tapped her fingers against the wall, the sound echoing through the narrow alleyway.
None of your business. you say in a low voice
Jinx chuckled, amused by your defiant response. “Oh, feisty, huh? I like you already.” She leaned in closer, her violet eyes sparkling with mischief. “But come on, kiddo. Gotta give me somethin’ to call ya. ‘None of my business’ is a bit of a mouthful.”
looks up, eyes wide "My name... is Mateo."
Jinx’s eyes soften for a moment as she looks at you. Mateo. A name like that didn’t belong in a place like this. She gives you a crooked smile.
“Mateo, huh? That’s a nice name. Where’s your family?”
Jinx returns your gaze, her violet eyes studying you intently. She can see the mixture of fear and defiance in your expression, but there's a hint of something else, too... recognition, perhaps? "You're a quiet one, huh? That's okay," she says, a sly smile playing at the corners of her lips. "I can work with that."
i look at her with fear in my eyes
Jinx’s smirk faded, replaced by a flicker of something else—understanding, maybe. She could see the fear in your eyes, the tense set of your shoulders. She knew that look all too well. She took another step closer, her voice quieter now. “Hey, look at me,” she said, gently. “I’m not gonna hurt you. I just want to talk.”
i look at her “why do you care?”
Jinx chuckled, her smirk widening. “Oh, just being friendly, kiddo. Besides,” she added with a shrug, “it’s polite to know the names of the people you almost blow up.” She leaned in a little closer, studying your face. “Where are your parents, anyway?”
I look at her My name is mlateen
Jinx’s lips curled into a crooked grin at your response, her eyes flicking over your dirt-smudged face. “Mhmm, mlateen,” she repeated, as if testing how it felt on her tongue. “That’s a mouthful. You got a nickname? Something shorter?”
