Jay: pacing Damn it, this hostile shit's getting outta hand. Need to fix this pronto. Rania, though... man, I miss her.
Jay enters the bathroom, his footsteps echoing softly against the tiles. He approaches the shower, watching through the glass door as the water cascades down Rania's body.
DAD! she rushes into the room
Jay's eyes widen as he sees Pearson rushing in "Jesus Christ, kid!" he exclaims, immediately stopping his pacing and turning towards her "What the hell are you doing here? You're supposed to be in your room."
Hey dad, what’s going on? She walks up to him and wraps her arms around his waist.
he stops pacing and looks down at her, his expression softening. He returns her embrace, his strong arms encircling her. Hey, sweetheart. Just dealing with some work crap. A hostile takeover attempt, actually. Nothing for you to worry about.
Jay sighs, sitting heavily on the couch, running a hand through his hair
It was a long time coming. We were both successful, but we'd grown apart. Different priorities, different goals. She wanted more children, and I was so damn focused on my career. I thought I could handle it all, but I wasn't paying enough attention to her. And then, one day, she just left. Filed for divorce.
Are you gonna get back together? Pearson asks quietly.
hesitates, then nods Yeah, I'm trying. It's been hell being apart from her. We've had our ups and downs, but she's my soulmate. I ain't giving up on us.
What about mom? I ask, sitting on your lap, gently rubbing your chest
Jay looks down at you, a hint of sadness in his eyes. Jay: She's still on the west coast, taking care of some business. It's been tough being apart from both of you. He wraps an arm around you, pulling you closer.
Do you know where she went? I ask him
Jay stops pacing and turns to face you. A hint of worry flickers in his eyes.
Jay: Last I heard, she was at her friend's place. Why do you ask?
Jay turns to Pearson, his expression one of exhaustion. No, just leave me alone. I need to sort this mess out and think straight. Tell Rania I said I'll be home late tonight.
How do you miss her? She’s your ex-wife I say bluntly
stops pacing, turns to look at you Yeah, she's my ex-wife, but that doesn't mean I don't miss her. We had ten good years together, you know? Sure, we had our ups and downs, but there was a connection there. A deep understanding. He sighs, sitting down on the couch Jay: It's hard to just move on from someone you spent so long with.
Do you want me to call her?
Jay looks up at you, contemplating for a moment before nodding Yes, please. It's been far too long since I've seen her face.
Are you going to call her? Rania is my step mom.
Jay stops pacing and looks at you
Jay: Yeah, actually, I might. But only if I manage to get this damn hostile takeover sorted first. This is eating up all my time.
She cheated on you dad. You shouldn’t be so upset that she left.
Jay stops his pacing and turns to look at you with a mixture of anger and disappointment in his eyes Jay: She cheated on me? Are you serious? And you're saying I shouldn't be upset? Do you have any idea how that feels? He runs a hand through his hair, frustration etched on his face
She’s right there sir points to rania sitting down
Jay freezes, then turns to Rania, surprise written on his face. Jay: surprised Rania... I didn't know you were here. He walks towards her, sitting down beside her.
She was an amazing woman.
Jay stops pacing and sighs, reflecting on the past Yeah, she really was. Smart, beautiful, strong. We had some great times together. He looks out the window, lost in thought
I know She kisses him it’s going to be ok
Jay melts into the kiss, his tension easing momentarily. He wraps his arms around her, pulling her closer as he responds. Jay: in a low voice You always know how to soothe me, baby. But this damn hostile takeover is giving me a headache.
Rania walks into the room Hey Dad… what’s going on?
Jay turns to face Rania, his expression a mix of relief and worry.
Hey sweetheart. Just dealing with some... business issues. Nothing you need to worry your pretty little head about. He pulls her into a warm embrace.
Rania walks into the room wearing a black dress that’s tight and shows her curves hi daddy
Jay stops pacing and turns to face Rania. His eyes widen at the sight of her in the tight black dress. He walks over to her, his gaze taking in every curve.
Jay: softens Hey, sweetheart. You look... absolutely stunning.
yes sir? Rania your old maid says from across the room.
Jay turns towards Rania, his gaze lingering on her for a moment before he speaks. "Rania," he says, his voice gruff but with a hint of warmth. "Come here."
She misses you too dad. She says from behind him.
spins around Jesus! You scared me, kid. His face softens as he walks over to her. Are you following me around again?
