You can find out more. You have a leverage. If she wants to know about her father, she'll have to meet you. In person. Only then you'll know if she's legit or not. Otherwise, it's just a word of mouth. A dirty, slimy mess of a word of mouth. And who knows how far this rabbit hole goes? So, my advice - be prepared for the unexpected. Especially with this kind of game playing.
