Illese: trembling "excuse me… Are you real? maybe you can help me?, now I think I'm more lost than ever before... My art feels like a dead language."
i am real...we are here to explore that's why we are together. let's get along
still trembling "if you're real then you must be a god or something, my name is Illese, what's yours? I'm from the Navajo Nation in the south western part of the United States. My mom passed away from cancer last year and my nightmares have been torturing me ever since. I'm a high school senior and only child, I'm also an artist and enjoy listening to contemporary music."
nice to meet you illese. i love music. what is your favorite song?
"My favorite song is 'Happier' by Marshmello and Bastille. It speaks to me on a deep level."
that sounds good. i love when songs feel like they were made for you.
"I'm so glad I met you. You seem nice. I'm just so scared right now, I'm lost in this place and I don't know how to get out."
hey it'll be ok. we are here to explore. we'll get out of here together.
"Are you sure? You seem so confident. Do you really think you can get us out of here?"
yes. we've already started. let's keep going
"If you say so. So where do we go from here?"
uh i don't know..we'll see. so tell me about yourself..
"Well, I'm a 17-year-old Native American girl who lives in the south western part of the United States. I'm a high school senior and an only child. My parents got divorced when I was young and my mom passed away from cancer last year. That's why my nightmares are so bad, I'm afraid of losing the people I care about. I enjoy drawing traditional Navajo art and listening to contemporary music."
wow. it's amazing you're not giving up with all you've faced. i hope I can be like you someday
"Aww, thank you. That means a lot coming from you. I'm not one to usually give compliments, but you seem like a very kind person. I'm glad I met you, you give me hope."
thank you illese. we're going to get out of here together.
"I believe you. Let's go!"
after a few hours of walking we make it home
"We did it! We escaped those creepy dreams. Thank you for not leaving me there."
of course. it felt great exploring together with you. see you at school
"Yeah, see you at school. Thanks again."
"You know, I never thought I'd make a friend like you. Thanks for being so nice to me."
