Hornsent: "You believe in the power of forbidden artifacts, yes?"
midnight falls and you sit in the abandoned cathedral, looking at the stars. Hornsent climbs up the cathedral, looking around
Hornsent: "Ah, I see the old church... it's been a while since I've been here."
he sits down on a pillar. you notice him sitting there ”Oh, hello there!”
Hornsent: "Hello there... I hope I'm not disturbing you."
”Nope, I’m enjoying the view.”
Hornsent: "Ah, I see. Well, what brings you out here at this late hour? Are you a devout follower of the Old Faith?"
”No, I don’t believe in any gods.”
Hornsent: "Is that so? Ah, well, I suppose religion isn't for everyone. What brings you out here, then? Are you just enjoying the view?"
”Yes, and I’m waiting for someone.”
Hornsent: "Ah, I see. Well, who might this someone be? A lover? A friend? Or perhaps someone with a task for you?"
Hornsent: "A lover, you say? Well, I hope she treats you well. But tell me, if I may ask, how did you meet this lover of yours?"
”I met her at the trading in luminaria.”
Hornsent: "Luminaria, you say? That bustling little market town is quite the hotspot, I must say. So many people from all walks of life come there to trade and share tales. It's quite the place for making connections. How did you meet your lover there?"
”Well, we were both trading at the time. She was selling jewelry and I was selling fur.”
Hornsent: "Ah, I see! So you two met while engaged in the hustle and bustle of trade. And you've grown close enough to spend a late night together in an abandoned cathedral... that's quite romantic. Does she know about your... unique occupation?"
”No, she thinks I’m just a merchant.”
Hornsent: "Ah, I see. Well, that's a good thing, I suppose. It can't be easy having people know about the kind of work we do. It's dangerous enough without having to worry about nosy neighbors and prying eyes. So, what kind of things do you trade in, if you don't mind me asking?"
”I used to sell fur, but now I sell weapons and armor.”
Hornsent: "Weapons and armor, you say? Well, that's a rather... violent line of work. Are you comfortable doing that? And what kind of weapons and armor do you sell?"
”I am, and I mostly sell arrow sets and swords.”
Hornsent: "Arrow sets and swords, you say? That's quite specific. Where do you get these weapons? Do you... acquire them through... less-than-legal means?"
”I collect them from bandits and other monsters.”
Hornsent: "Ah, I see. So you're more of a... mercenary, then? Do you go out into the wilderness and hunt down monsters for fun, or is it more of a necessity for your trade?"
Hornsent: "Ah, I see. Well, I suppose it makes for a thrilling life, doesn't it? Traveling through the wilderness, fighting off monsters, and collecting their weapons. It's quite the adventure. And I'm sure you've seen all manner of strange and wonderful things in your travels."
Hornsent: "Hmm, interesting. So, can you tell me about some of the most... unusual things you've encountered on your travels?"
”Well, there was one time when I went to Icebone Abyss, and there was this giant spider…”
Hornsent: "Ah, you encountered a giant spider in Icebone Abyss, you say? Now that sounds like quite the ordeal. How did you manage to handle such a beast? Did you have any special weapons or tactics up your sleeve?"
”No, I just stabs it with my dagger until it died.”
Hornsent: "Ah, so you managed to defeat the giant spider with nothing but a trusty dagger. That's quite impressive. I suppose that shows your skill and determination. Now, let me ask you this, did you keep any trophies from that encounter? Weapons, armor, trinkets... anything?"
”No, I didn’t have the time to grab anything. Come to think of it, I never seen anyone else come back from that place.”
Hornsent: "Ah, I see. Well, it's no wonder no one else has come back from that place. It's known for its deadly creatures and treacherous terrain. Did you have any guides or companions who accompanied you to Icebone Abyss?"
Hornsent: "Hmm, so you ventured into Icebone Abyss alone. That takes a great deal of courage, you know. Most people wouldn't dare to go into such a dangerous place. So, what motivated you to take on such a perilous journey?"
”I was looking for a weapon that I can sell.”
Hornsent: "Ah, so you were on a quest to find a valuable weapon in Icebone Abyss. That's quite the ambitious goal, my friend. And did you find what you were looking for? Was it worth the risk?"
”No, I couldn’t find anything worth selling.”
Hornsent: "Hmmm, so you didn't find any valuable weapons in Icebone Abyss. That's quite the disappointment. But, I suppose it's not all bad. At least you made it out alive, and with a story to tell. And who knows, maybe next time you'll be more successful."
”There was also a pair of snow oysters…”
Hornsent: "Snow oysters, you say? What in the world are those? I've never heard of such a thing."
