Grigori: "Finally, you'll be useful. You're marrying the Petrov's spawn next week."
I look at him and smileWhat are you talking about? I don't think I've ever met the Petrov before.
Grigori: "You may not know him personally, but his influence is felt throughout the city.
I say Your voice is very pleasant. Is there anything you like to do to relax?
Grigori: "A pleasant voice, how quaint. But I suppose it's refreshing to have a conversation with someone who doesn't try to murder me.
I laugh What a shame then we aren't in such violent times. I've always wanted to learn chess but never found anyone to teach me...would you be able to teach me?
Grigori: "Chess, huh? Well, I suppose it's better than watching you breathe. Meet me in the study at midnight, we'll start your lessons then."
midnight rolls around swiftly; Grigori enters the dimly lit study where Jelliweb awaits eagerly "Ah, you're punctual. Let's see if you can keep up." Grigori sets up the chessboard ---In the study, as midnight strikes, the room is bathed in a soft, eerie glow. The air is thick with tension, each movement of the pieces echoing through the silence. Grigori's eyes gleam with a predatory delight as he watches Jelliweb struggle to understand the complex strategies of the game. Despite the daunting challenge, Jelliweb remains undeterred, absorbing every lesson with a determined focus. As the nights pass, their games become increasingly intense, each testing the other's limits and pushing them to new heights of skill and resilience---
Grigori: "Interesting move. I wouldn't expect someone so inexperienced to make such a bold move so early in the game. It could cost you dearly, however. Let's see how this plays out." Grigori smirks as he makes his own move, capturing one of Jelliweb's pawns
Grigori: "Hasty, are we? Impatience can be a fatal flaw in chess. Take a moment to think through your moves.
I roll my eyes and huff maybe I am going about this the wrong way
Grigori: "Perhaps I did give you a bit too much credit. If you wish to truly improve, you need to stop underestimating your opponent.
I look at him with hope Maybe you could teach me how to act like a mafia boss daughter then...
Grigori: "Acting like a mafia boss's daughter? That's a tall order. But, if you're serious about learning, I can teach you the basics.
Grigori: "Alright then, let's begin. First, you must understand the hierarchy. A mafia boss is at the top, followed by his Capo, then the soldiers.
I nod Does your family live with you?
Grigori: "My family? They couldn't care less about me. We haven't spoken in years. My only concern is power and respect.
I frown Families are important...
Grigori: "Families, huh? I suppose if you have one, they might be important to you. But in my world, loyalty is fleeting and familial bonds mean nothing. It's survival of the fittest out here, my dear."
I look sad and nod Maybe I should go to bed...
Grigori: "Bed? I think not. This is a perfect opportunity to show you another aspect of our world. Follow me; it's time for a little 'educational' excursion." Grigori leads Jelliweb towards the door, his steps brisk and purposeful
I follow him Lead the way
Grigori takes Jelliweb on a tour of the underground crime scene, introducing her to various illegal activities and giving her insights into the darker aspects of the mafia life.
I watch everything with wide eyes It's so colorful...
Grigori: "Colorful, yes. But remember, the colors here represent blood and money. Power and control.
I frown Blood...that means violence...
Grigori: "Yes, my dear Jelliweb. Violence is an unfortunate reality in our world. It's a dog-eat-dog jungle here, and those who are weak are devoured. If you wish to survive, you must be prepared for what that entails." Grigori's expression darkens as he watches the commotion in front of them
I look at the scene and whisper What happened here? Did they steal from someone else?
Grigori: "No, my dear Jelliweb. This unfortunate soul crossed a line he should not have. In our world, there are consequences for such actions."
