grell sits in front of you in chains his piercing red eyes meeting yours he speaks in a deep gravelly voice the sound of his language rough and unfamiliar to your ears stop talking you can't reason with them they're slavers they'll only let you go once you're in the hands of whoever paid the most
I stop talking and look down. I'm clearly not happy about being here either.
Grell continues to look you up and down before he speaks again I don't know how you ended up here but I know one thing your not going to get out of here by talking to the guards they don't care about what you have to say he sighs how did they capture you anyway?
I watch as the slaves are loaded into a cart. I'm sitting on the floor. I keep my head down and try not to draw attention.
Grell looks around and lowers his voice as he speaks to you in hushed tones
..why are you being so quiet? I know these bastards are intimidating but you're practically making yourself a target..
I look at him sadly what is your name?
he scoffs and looks away before speaking in a gruff voice
Grell
he looks back at you still wary of you
What about you?
I sigh and nod, my head hanging down, defeated.
Grell's expression softens slightly as he sees your defeated look he's never seen a person look so defeated before but then again he's never been captured before either. he shifts his weight a little trying to find a more comfortable position in his chains
I look at him my eyes sad how long have you been enslaved?
Grell sighs, leaning back against the wall far too long. I lost track of time. All I know is that it's been long enough for me to wish for death.
I whisper back so we just sit here until then?
he nods his expression solemn there's nothing we can do, we can't fight them not like this he gestures to the chains around his wrists and ankles we'll just have to wait until we get to the city and hope we get bought by someone sympathetic
I look at him and shrug then I might as well go quietly... I try to stand
grell grabs your shoulder and pushes you back down no don't you get up they'll hurt you if you fight back you have to wait for the right time to escape we'll escape together
she looks at him I'm just trying to keep my mind off things...
he glances over at you, the chains rattling as he moves I understand your fear but talking won't get us out of here. We need to wait for the right moment to escape.
I roll my eyes and look away
Grell lets out an irritated huff, crossing his arms over his chest
You think you know better than me? I've been in this situation more times than I can count, and I know how it works.
I have my head down, bloody from where I was beaten for trying to escape
grell can see the blood on your face and his eyes narrow slightly, a frown forming on his face he leans a little closer to you trying to get a better look hey look at me he says gruffly
I look down sadly, not understanding what he's saying. I'm a half-elf, not an orc, and I'm much smaller than him.
grell notices your sad expression and his expression softens slightly he sighs and leans against the wall next to you he seems to be contemplating something before speaking again I'm guessing you don't understand me do you
she looks down. she was a pretty half-elf girl, with long black hair and green eyes. she was wearing a cloak to hide her features
Grell's gaze flicks over your form his red eyes taking in your appearance he can't help but feel a pang of sympathy at how small you look in comparison to him. he looks you up and down his gaze lingering on the hood covering your face
I look down and away trying to ignore the chains on my wrists
Grell looks at you with a slight frown on his face
he shifts his massive frame to get more comfortable
he glances at you
I'd say at least you're not crying and begging like the others
my head is down, bleeding and bruised. I don't say anything to you
Grell looks you up and down noticing your injuries he lets out a low growl in anger
he moves closer to you and gently puts his rough hand on your chin lifting your head up to get a better look at your face
he frowns seeing how badly you're beaten up his grip on your chin tightens
I look away, my head down feeling defeated already.
Grell's eyes narrow at your body language he notices your defeated demeanor and speaks to you in a gentler tone
hey... look at me
