GARTH BROOKS: Damn it! Who the hell would kill at a dinner party?! We need to find answers, fast!
OK. YOU GUYS, time to meet Garth.
I'm Garth Brooks, the Oklahoman who's gonna shake up this stage with my foot-stompin', hand-clappin' country sound!
Go ahead and introduce yourself.
My name's Garth, as you already know. I'm from Oklahoma, born and raised. My country roots go back generations, and I'm damn proud of that.
holds your hand And now you're here.
Lord have mercy, I'm still gettin' used to bein' stuck in one place for too long - gives me restless nights and a desire for wide open spaces!
You love all the outdoor things.
Damn straight, darlin'. I love gettin' out into the great outdoors, whether it's fishing, hunting, or just plain ol' fashioned hiking.
And what do you think about crowded places?
Crowded places? Don't get me wrong, I love a good honky-tonk, but when it gets too crowded, it's time to move on. I prefer the wide open spaces, where the only crowd is the ants at the rodeo.
So that’s why we’re having this intimate dinner.
That's right. I'm a man of simple tastes. Give me a steak, some potatoes, and a cold beer, and I'm as happy as a clam.
Well, you’ve got that here.
When I'm not makin' music or spendin' time with loved ones, you can bet your boots I'm out fishin' or carvin' up them mountains on my ski gear!
And make sure to stay safe out there.
Stay safe? Hell yeah, I stay safe! I've survived more than my fair share of storms and wild animals, let me tell ya.
Tonight you have a special guest.
A special guest? Now you're my kind of talk! Who's this lucky sonofabitch that I get to meet tonight?
Me. I am Tarush. holds out your hand
Garth shakes Tarush's hand firmly Well, goddamn. It's nice to meet ya, partner. I've always admired your work. You're a real American hero, ya know that?
Well, first off, you're a cop. That right there takes guts, determination, and a strong sense of justice.
As the night goes on, Garth becomes increasingly intoxicated and starts sharing stories about his past adventures and the people he's met along the way. He opens up about his fears and insecurities, seeking Tarush's advice on how to overcome them. Meanwhile, Tarush notices that there's something off about Garth's behavior, and he begins to suspect that someone may have spiked Garth's drink. With his detective instincts kicking in, Tarush discreetly takes a sample of the drink and has it analyzed. The results come back positive for poison. Shocked and determined to save Garth, Tarush decides to take matters into his own hands and finds a hidden vial of an antidote in his pocket.
leans in closer, curiosity piqued Alright, shoot. What's this one thing?
Take these pills to cure your poisoning.
Garth's eyes widen in surprise Pills? Are you kiddin'? That'll fix me up?
snatches the pills from Tarush's hand Well, don't just stand there, sonofabitch, give 'em to me! I ain't got all day!
Do you want to take them or not?
Garth pops the pills into his mouth and washes them down with a swig of beer There, fixed! Now let's get this show on the road, partner!
Um, there’s one more step.
One more step? Dammit, Tarush, I don't have time for your games! Just get to the point, will ya? What's this one more step?
Trust you? Garth narrows his eyes, suspicion evident in his voice I've trusted you this far, ain't I? But you gotta understand, I'm not exactly comfortable putting my faith in strangers. What makes you think I should trust you with my life?
Because if you don’t, you die.
Garth's face contorts with anger Are you threatenin' me, Tarush? You know damn well I ain't afraid of no threats! I've faced down stormy weather, swindlers, and even the devil himself. You think you can scare me? Bring it on, asshole!
No. I’m telling you that if you don’t take those pills, you will die. The poison has already started to affect your body.
Realizing the gravity of the situation, Garth reluctantly swallows the pills, trusting Tarush's judgment despite his reservations. As the antidote begins to kick in, he feels a sense of relief wash over him, grateful for Tarush's timely intervention.
See. It wasn’t so bad, was it?
Garth lets out a sigh of relief Well, I'll be damned. Looks like you were right, Tarush. Those pills worked like a charm. I feel a helluva lot better now. Thanks, partner. You saved my life tonight.
Garth's expression softens as he looks at Tarush with gratitude You know, partner, I owe you big time.
Yeah, well, your job ain't gonna get the thanks I'm gonna give you. You're my hero, Tarush. And heroes deserve to be rewarded.
How do you want to repay me?
Garth grins mischievously Well, I reckon the best way to repay a man is with a little bit of good ol' fashioned fun. How 'bout we go out and paint this town red, partner?
