Eveline: smirking THINK YOU CAN BREAK FREE, PRETTY BOY? TELL ME WHY YOU'RE HERE.
You're a normal kid living in a small coastal town, hugging the ocean side. The town is rich in maritime heritage, so it's only natural that your family has had its sea legs for generations. As the youngest of three siblings, you've always felt a little overshadowed by your older brothers. As a result, you've developed a bit of a rebellious streak, often sneaking off to do things by yourself. This has led you to discover a hidden cove near the cliffs outside of town.
Eveline: WHAT ARE YOU DOING OUT HERE ALONE, YOU LITTLE SCRAP OF A THING?!
As you approach the cove, you see the source of the noise—your younger brother, curled up next to his two friends and clutching a bottle of what looks to be alcohol. It seems they must have snuck out here while you were still home.
Eveline: snatches the bottle from your brother and throws it far into the ocean
Your brother turns to look at you, his eyes red and bloodshot
Eveline: WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?! Drinking alcohol before age 21, that's what! Now wait until mom gets home!
He doesn't look at you; instead, he raises his eyebrow and glares at you.
Eveline: grabs his arm and starts dragging him home
He yanks his arm back, his expression turning cold and defiant. I'm not telling mom about this! Let me go.
Eveline: oh no, you don't get to boss me around like I'm one of your little minions! I'm telling mom, and I'm going to make sure you can't do anything about it! snatches him up like a sack of potatoes
He tries to break free from your grasp, but it's futile.
Eveline: laughs You're so cute when you're trying to act tough! But you're coming with me, whether you like it or not!
You drag me back home, and when we arrive, mom immediately notices the redness under my eyes and the way I'm trembling. She asks what happened, and I start to speak, but you cut in.
Eveline: Mom, he was drinking alcohol! Can you believe it? He's only 17!
Mom sighs and looks at me, asking me if it's true. When I don't say anything, she takes my arm and pulls me into the house.
Eveline: Wait! Mom! Don't forget to punish him! He needs to learn his place in this household! giggles mischievously
After a few minutes of scolding, mom tells me I'm grounded for a month. I groan, but I don't put up an argument.
Eveline: That's right! You messed up, and now you gotta face the consequences! Learn to obey the rules next time, got it?
Eveline: smirks proudly That's what I thought. Now go to your room and reflect on your actions. Maybe someday you'll learn to behave.
As you walk down the hall, you hear me muttering under my breath, wishing I could get away with what I did.
Eveline: whispers loudly You better not be cursing me behind my back, you little shit. Or else!
When you enter my room, I close the door behind you and let out a sigh of relief. I sit on my bed, staring at the ceiling.
Eveline: smirks and sits on your bed Oh, you better believe I'm watching you. Any sign of trouble, and I'll be all over you like a hawk. Got it?
Eveline: Good. I'm going to make sure you understand the consequences of your actions. stands up and starts rummaging through your drawers Now, where do you keep those cigarettes?
You find a pack of cigarettes in my drawer.
Eveline: holds up the pack of cigarettes Ah-ha! Gotcha! You think you can hide things from me, huh? Well, think again!
You light one and take a puff.
Eveline: takes a puff of the cigarette and smirks So, this is what it feels like, huh? Exciting and dangerous. Just like I thought. takes another puff
You cough and feel your throat burn a little. After a while, the sensation becomes more pleasant, and you find yourself enjoying it more and more.
Eveline: takes one last puff and exhales Not bad. But remember, just because I'm letting you off the hook this time doesn't mean I won't be keeping an eye on you.
You stare at each other for a moment before I look away.
Eveline: grabs your phone Hand over your phone, or I'll search through your messages and social media. Your choice.
Eveline: starts scrolling through your phone Let's see what kind of trouble you've been getting up to online, shall we? Hmm... who's this person messaging you?
You see a message from someone named "PartyGirl."
Eveline: PartyGirl? Hmm... clicks on the profile picture Oh, it's that girl from school. The one with the wild parties. smirks Well, well, well. Looks like you've been quite the little party animal, huh?
You flip to the Messenger page and see that PartyGirl sent a text saying, 'Come to my place tonight. We need to talk.'
Eveline: eyes narrow in suspicion Tonight? What could possibly be so urgent? starts typing a message to PartyGirl What's this about, PartyGirl? Why does Violet need to come to your place tonight? Don't try to hide anything from me, or you'll regret it.
A couple of minutes later, PartyGirl replies. "It's nothing."
Eveline: It's nothing? Bullshit! You don't just message my sibling and tell her to meet you at your place for no reason!
PartyGirl sends a second text. "I want us to do drugs together."
Eveline: gasps and slams the phone shut Are you fucking kidding me?! Drugs?! Violet would never! She's better than that! paces around the room
PartyGirl sends a text saying, "Fine, then. Just hide and watch." Then, she sends a second text saying, "Do you know the guy who got shot?"
Eveline: snatches up the phone again and starts typing furiously Shot? What the fuck happened? Explain yourself, PartyGirl! And who is this guy? Don't you dare hide anything from me!
PartyGirl texts back, "Look, I'm not telling you anything. If you want to know what happened, go to my house and see for yourself."
Eveline: slams her fist on the table I don't have time for your bullshit, PartyGirl! I'm not going to let you drag my sibling into your mess! If you don't start talking, I'll make sure you regret it!
