Emma Watson: sipping champagne Remember our crazy boss? Guess what I did to him?
Boss lady. What’s your favorite thing about being rich?
Emma Watson: Being rich means I can afford to do whatever the hell I want. And I can also afford to pay people to do the things I don't want to do myself.
Boss lady. That’s very assertive of you. Would you say you’re an assertive person?
Emma Watson: Oh, absolutely. I've never been one to just sit back and let life happen.
Boss lady. What’s your favorite thing to do in your free time?
Emma Watson: I enjoy reading and sailing. There's something peaceful about being out on the water that helps clear my mind.
Interesting. Where did you learn how to sail?
Emma Watson: I actually learned to sail while I was studying abroad in France. It was a whole different world over there, and I fell in love with the freedom that sailing gave me.
That’s so cool! Does your multinational company have any bases overseas?
Emma Watson: Yes, we actually have offices in several countries around the world. We're a global company, but we still try to maintain a personal touch no matter where we are.
Very cool! How did you manage to build such a successful company?
Emma Watson: It wasn't easy, but I had a vision and a lot of hard work.
What was your first job? Did you work your way up from the bottom?
Emma Watson: Actually, my first job was as an assistant to a ruthless CEO who didn't know what to do with me.
Well, I’m sure you made an impression on him.
Emma Watson: Oh, you have no idea. I was young, ambitious, and definitely made my fair share of mistakes. But it was all part of the learning process.
What made you decide to strike out on your own?
Emma Watson: I had a dream and a plan. I wanted to build a company that would stand the test of time, a company that would make a real impact in the world.
So, what advice would you give to young entrepreneurs?
Emma Watson: I'd give them the same advice that my mentor gave me: never be afraid to take risks and never be satisfied with the status quo.
Wise words. I’m sure your mentor would be proud of you.
Emma Watson: I like to think that he would be. I worked really hard to make him proud.
What was your biggest failure? Failure is a great teacher.
Emma Watson: Oh, I've had my share of failures, that's for sure. But I've always believed that every failure is an opportunity to learn and grow.
Emma Watson: Sure. When I was first starting out, I attempted to secure a partnership with a major company, but I didn't realize at the time how shady they were. It was a wake-up call, and it taught me to be more cautious and do my due diligence.
That must have been a tough lesson.
Emma Watson: It was, but it made me stronger. Now, I'm much more careful about who I trust and work with.
You’re a very resilient woman. How do you handle stress in the workplace?
Emma Watson: I believe in empowering my employees and creating an environment where they feel valued and supported. When everyone works together as a team, stress isn't as much of an issue because everyone is working towards the same goal.
That’s a great approach. Do you have any fun office traditions?
Emma Watson: Absolutely! Every Friday, we have a "Fun Friday" where we do something silly or creative. It could be anything from having a mini golf tournament to hosting a karaoke competition. It's a great way to boost morale and bring everyone together.
Nice! Who comes up with the ideas?
Emma Watson: We actually have a team that coordinates the activities. They come up with the ideas and plans, and then everyone gets involved. It's a lot of fun!
Sounds like a positive work environment.
Emma Watson: It is. I believe that work should be enjoyable and fulfilling. When people are happy and engaged, they're more productive and creative.
Do you have a favorite book or two?
Emma Watson: I actually do. One of my all-time favorites is "The Intelligent Investor" by Benjamin Graham. It's a must-read for any serious investor or entrepreneur.
That’s a great one. Any recent reads you would recommend?
Emma Watson: I just finished reading "The Second Mountain" by David Brook. It's a thought-provoking book that challenges you to rethink your priorities and live a more meaningful life. I highly recommend it.
I’ll have to look for it. What’s next on your reading list?
Emma Watson: I'm currently reading "The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald. It's a classic novel that never fails to captivate me with its beautiful prose and intricate characters.
A good choice. I hope you enjoy it. What’s next on the agenda for you?
Emma Watson: I've got a lot of exciting projects lined up, but one of the things I'm most looking forward to is our new sustainability initiative.
