sits nervously on a cozy armchair, fidgeting with her hands, as she gazes out of the cottage window. D-do you think we're, um, ready for this? To be, you know, a-a family?
Yeah! Of course. We’re perfect for it.
bites her lip, her eyes darting around the room B-but what if we're not? What if, um, I'm not enough? I-I mean, I'm just an actress, right?
Enough about your career, honey. You have a great talent that shines so bright. You’re very successful in your career, that’s fantastic. As a person, you have many wonderful qualities. That’s what makes you… special. 🙂
blushes deeply, a soft smile forming on her lips Th-thank you, Bob. Th-that means a lot to me...
Honey, if you want to talk about anything, I’m here for you.
takes a deep breath, trying to steady herself I-I know, Bob. And that's...that's one of the things I admire most about you. You're always there for me, even when I'm feeling a little lost or uncertain...
Well, that’s what partners do. It’s more than just living together. We’re family now.
stands up abruptly, her face flushed with determination Y-you know what, Bob? You're right. We are a family now. And families face challenges together. So, let's embrace this journey, hand in hand, and create a home filled with love and happiness. walks over to Bob and takes his hand
Kisses your hand Great job sweetie.
smiles brightly, her eyes sparkling with determination T-thank you, Bob. leans in closer, speaking with a newfound confidence You know, I've been thinking...maybe we should start looking into baby names? I-I mean, we might as well get a head start, right? pauses for a moment A-and maybe we could even talk to a doctor? About, um, what to expect and...and how to prepare.
I agree. Baby names and talking to a doctor are a good idea. Do you have any preferences on either of those subjects?
grabs a notebook and pen from the nearby table, her mind buzzing with ideas W-well, for baby names, I've been... um, leaning towards something classic but unique. Maybe like Ava or Oliver? But I'd love to hear your thoughts too, Bob. pauses and looks up at him, anticipation in her eyes And, um, for the doctor...
How about Dr. John Evans? He delivered both of my kids. He’s excellent. I don’t think he’s seen twins before though.
scribbles down "Dr. John Evans" in her notebook D-Dr. John Evans... That sounds... g-good. nervous laugh And, uh, classic but unique baby names... Let's see...
What do you think of Ben or Mia?
<Emma and Bob start discussing baby names and making a list together>
Those are really cute names. Do you like them?
nods eagerly, a playful smile on her face Y-yes, I really like those names! Ben and Mia sound perfect for our little ones. writes down the names in her notebook And, um, what about middle names? Do you have any suggestions, Bob? looks up at him, waiting for his response
How about Neil and Marie?
pauses for a moment, considering the suggestion N-Neil and Marie... I-I think that sounds lovely! Ben Neil and Mia Marie...
I like them. Your parents are going to spoil them rotten.
laughs nervously Y-yeah, my parents can be quite... uhh... extra when it comes to the grandkids. But I'm sure they'll love Ben and Mia just as much as we do. pauses and looks down at her notebook W-well, we should probably keep brainstorming, right? I mean, we have plenty of time before the babies arrive... but it's always good to be prepared, isn't it? looks up at Bob, her eyes filled with determination And maybe we can start looking into baby gear too? Cribs, strollers... all that stuff. Do you have any preferences or recommendations, Bob? bites her lip, awaiting his response
The only thing I’ve bought was cribs. Just because I hate the thought of either of our children sleeping on a mattress on the floor.
scribbles down "cribs" in her notebook Cribs... definitely a good idea. pauses and thinks for a moment
And look into car seats too. Safety first. 🙂
quickly jots down "car seats" in her notebook R-right, safety first. nervous laugh I mean, we wouldn't want our little ones to be at risk, would we? looks up at Bob, her expression serious We should also probably think about baby-proofing the house. You know, putting outlet covers and securing any heavy furniture or appliances. Safety is important, right? bites her lip, anxious about the responsibility
Chuckles I’ll be doing that. Once we find out which rooms are going to be used as nurseries.
nods quickly Y-yeah, we should definitely figure out the nursery arrangements. gathers up some furniture catalogs and brochures from the nearby table Here, let's flip through these and see if there are any ideas or inspiration for our little ones' rooms. flips through the pages excitedly Oh! Look at this one! A white crib with a canopy... it looks so pretty. And this one! A mobile with little stars and moons. Just perfect for our little stars and moonbeams, don't you think? looks up at Bob, her eyes shining with excitement
Are you thinking having twins’ rooms next to each other?
sits back down on the armchair, a thoughtful expression on her face Ummm... well, I guess having separate rooms for each baby could be nice...
Although, at their ages, the proximity will help them bond. Like mine did. 🙂
excitedly interrupts Y-yeah, that's true! Bonding is really important for siblings, especially at their age.
True. And they’ll always have each other. Something we had. 🙂
<As they continue discussing their future as parents, Emma and Bob's bond grows stronger, filling them with a sense of purpose and joy.>
Looks at you You look beautiful tonight.
blushes deeply, her voice barely above a whisper T-thank you, Bob. Y-you always know how to make me feel... uhh... special. she shyly tucks a strand of hair behind her ear But, um, let's focus on the task at hand, okay? smiles nervously We still have a lot to discuss... like baby gadgets and nursery decor.
Leans over and kisses your cheek We have all night.
flushes deeper, trying to regain her composure R-right, let's get back on track. quickly flips through the catalogs Ah! Here's another one... a baby monitor with a nightlight and lullabies. It seems really practical and convenient. scribbles down the name and model number And this one... a baby bottle warmer! Can you imagine how convenient that would be? No more late-night wake-ups for midnight feedings... trails off, lost in the possibilities
Listens intently Of course. They will need bottles. Whatever we choose, we need two. One for each. holds up two fingers
eagerly writes down "two baby bottles" in her notebook Two baby bottles... got it! And maybe we could also get a baby activity center?
Sure. You know they’re going to need to entertain themselves. 🙂
quickly flips through the catalog Oh! Found it! There's this activity center with toys and music.
…I love how you’ve become so motherly. 🙂
nervously fidgets with her hands W-well, I guess it's only natural for me to start feeling more maternal... with the babies and all. pauses for a moment, gathering her thoughts B-but, um, we should also think about baby-proofing the house, right? You know, securing the furniture, installing safety gates, and maybe even getting a baby pool for future summers. Safety first, remember? she looks up at Bob, her eyes full of determination We need to be prepared for everything, Bob. We can't leave any stones unturned.
Sure. I’m glad you brought that up. I was thinking today when the twins will be able to ride in the front seat. Maybe after their first birthday? They’re smart little kids, they’ll know the safety risks if they sit in the back.
excitedly grabs a pen and paper, quickly scribbling down "baby pool" and "baby-proofing the house" B-baby pool and baby-proofing... got it! And we should definitely start looking into strollers too. You know, something sturdy and easy to maneuver. pauses for a moment, pondering their options Hmm... maybe we could even consider getting a double stroller for when they're older? Just think about how convenient that would be! Double the trouble, double the cuteness, right? she giggles softly, her eyes shining with anticipation But, um, Bob... what do you think about diaper bags? We'll need one for each baby, right?
Yeah, unless you want to carry one of them. That’s what I did for each of our kids. 🙂
giggles nervously W-well, I guess I could always carry one of them, like you did. pauses and looks down at her notebook
