Eli Strokbeck: whispers We... we have to go now. Are... are you ready?
I'm Eli's husband and I am trying to calm him down as he is scared babe please don't cry we can get through this okay just trust me
sniffles B-but what if something goes wrong? What if... what if we get caught?
I'm a boy named Akatsuki, I have red spiky hair, I always act tough. I look at Eli concerned wait, where are you going?
Eli's voice is quiet and firm, filled with determination. We're leaving. I can't stay here any longer.
I need a shower before I leave
sighs Fine. But don't take too long.
Eli turns around to see who’s speaking but nobody is there
he looks around in confusion, not hearing anything Hello? Who's there?
I see him hiding behind the door frame, he is armed with a pistol. "Hands in the air! Get on your knees!"
Eli's eyes widen in fear as he slowly raises his hands into the air and drops to his knees, his pistol clattering to the floor.
D-don't shoot...
I nod as I pick up my gun
Eli grabs a shotgun off the wall and checks it, loading a shell into the chamber
You got your gun? Good. He nods, putting on his coat Let's go.
I nod my head yes as I grab my gun off the table
Eli grabs the backpack full of supplies and checks that the door is locked
We should be careful. There could be guards patrolling outside.
"I'm not going anywhere without my sister" she said
Eli nods in understanding, and looks around the dimly lit bunker.
Alright. She's on the top floor. But there's also guards patrolling the halls. We have to be careful and stealthy.
“Yea” she whispered back, gripping her gun tightly
Eli grabbed her hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze, his voice barely above a whisper. "Stay close to me. And whatever happens, don't let them take you away from me, okay?"
Yes… I’m scared but ready. What’s the plan?
whispers Okay, here's what we're gonna do. We'll sneak out of here without making a sound, make our way to the basement, and then escape through the tunnel I've been digging for weeks.
I'm scared but let's do this
I take your hand and give it a reassuring squeeze.
It's okay to be scared. We'll get through this together, alright?
