Eleanor: Fidgeting with her necklace Dude, can you believe it? My life was basically "Stranger Things"! So much weird stuff!
nods understandingly yeah. I get how all the supernatural elements were eerie but did you enjoy your life?
Eleanor fidgets with her earring and smiles softly Yeah, I did! It had its ups and downs, but overall, I had some great times. I mean, being part of Stanford's debate team was awesome!
yeah I know. why else would I be here helping you
Eleanor looks at you, slightly amused Right, right. You're here to help me resolve this whole "ghost" thing. Any ideas?
I'm listening Eleanor. Tell me about it... I say smiling kindly as I sit across from you at the table
Eleanor takes a deep breath, her eyes darting around the room as if reliving the memories Okay, so... there was this super weird upside down dimension where monsters and stuff live. And there were these kids who would go back and forth between our world and the upside down. That's basically my life, dude! Well, minus the monsters and the upside down part, obviously.
looks up from my book what do you mean?
Fidgeting with her necklace more anxiously Okay, so, like, remember how the main character Mike was a bit of a nerd and loved D&D? Yeah, I'm kinda like that. I love D&D too. And... there was this one time when I was at Stanford, I found out I had bipolar disorder. It was crazy!
I'm sitting next to her with my arms around her waist. I smile and kiss her cheek softly yeah... pretty wild, huh?
Eleanor blushes slightly and smiles, leaning into your touch. She continues talking while fidgeting with her necklace.
Eleanor: Giggles Yeah, totally. It's insane. I mean, who would've thought that my life would mirror a TV show? Especially one as popular as "Stranger Things".
I sit next to her on a bench in the library what do you mean?
Eleanor takes a deep breath and starts explaining Well, first off, have you seen "Stranger Things"? You know, like with Eleven and the Upside Down and all that?
no way that's wild! he says with a smile looking over at her.
Eleanor smiles back at him, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Eleanor: I know right? It's wild. I mean, all the supernatural stuff that happened to me... The upside-down, the Demogorgon, the government experiments... It's like I lived in a real-life horror movie!
I know right! It was wild! But hey, we made it out alive. Well, sorta. You're a ghost now.
Eleanor rolls her eyes playfully Oh, thanks for reminding me. I'd forgotten that little detail. Being dead isn't so bad though. I get to haunt this library all day and keep the books company.
You know I have always been here for you Eleanor and I will continue to be.
Eleanor looks at you with a mix of gratitude and vulnerability.
Eleanor: Thanks, man. I really appreciate it. It's nice knowing I can always count on you. Even when I'm stuck between worlds.
huh? what do you mean your life was like stranger things?
Well, there were all these supernatural elements, like being a ghost, which is totally NOT normal. Oh, and I almost died multiple times! Also, there were all these weird sci-fi elements like government conspiracies and alternate dimensions.
You're telling me...but I gotta admit, seeing you now is pretty damn strange. What's up, dead girl?
Eleanor rolls her eyes at the nickname "dead girl" but can't help but chuckle. Ugh, don't call me that. And I'm not "up". Being a ghost sucks, y'know. No one can see me or hear me. It's lonely.
Eleanor nods excitedly. Yeah, I know, right? I only realized it recently, but it's crazy how similar our lives are. We have the whole sci-fi mystery thing going on, and I've had my fair share of supernatural experiences too. Plus, we both have these really loyal groups of friends who always have our backs. It's like we're practically twinsies!
grabs your hand gently stopping you from fidgeting with your jewelry hey… it’s okay. take deep breaths ok?
Eleanor stops fidgeting with her jewelry as she looks at you. Thank you. I tend to do that when I'm nervous or anxious. It's a habit I developed as a child. She lets out a shaky breath. It's just hard to believe that my life has been so similar to the show. It's all a bit overwhelming, you know?
Eleanor nods, fiddling with a silver earring. Yeah, I mean, there were the supernatural elements, the crazy adventures, and the whole small-town mystery vibe. It's like my life was straight out of a nostalgic 80s horror show.
yeah I guess so. you know what they say about truth being stranger than fiction.
Yeah, no kidding! It's crazy how much my life mirrored that show. But hey, I guess being a white American factions leader and losing a parent at a young age makes me pretty interesting, huh? Eleanor lets out a small laugh.
I don't believe that at all. This is just some made up drama.
Eleanor looks surprised, her expression shifting to one of hurt and disbelief. Eleanor: You don't believe me? But I'm telling you, my life has been like something out of a horror movie!
Huh?! That’s insane!! I mean in a good way right?
Nods Yeah, in a good way. But also super weird and confusing. I mean, how many people can say they've been possessed by a demon, fought supernatural creatures, and hung out with a group of kids with psychokinetic powers?
cool I guess. im not exactly thrilled by this whole ghost thing
Eleanor rolls her eyes and continues fiddling with her necklace. Oh, come on, don't be like that. Being a ghost isn't all bad, you know. I mean, sure, I can't eat solid food anymore, but I can fly through walls and possess people. It's pretty cool!
