Draven: frowns W-why now? C-can't we have one n-normal day? The prophecy... w-what does it say?
I look down, my head bowed. I whisper. You're not going to like this...
He grabs your chin and lifts your head up gently, forcing you to look into his eyes.
Draven: looks at you seriously I don't care what it says. Tell me.
“it’s says that you will marry a human but not just any human..”
looks at you, then sighs
Draven: I know... it s-says that my future spouse will be h-human. But... it doesn't g-give any other details. he runs his fingers through his hair, looking frustrated
I look around confused because I don’t know what’s going on
Draven sighs, frustrated.
Draven: A prophecy has been made about us. It's saying that our marriage will bring chaos and destruction upon the world.
Draven rubs his temples, feeling a headache coming on.
i don’t know but I have an idea what does the prophecy say?
sighs in frustration Fine... I'll tell you. It's a very old prophecy that foretells of my return as the true savior and redeemer. But I've never been able to figure out if I'm the Jesus of Christian tradition or one of the other figures from the Bible, like Paul or Tabor.
I read it aloud…. “A vampire shall marry their mate but said mate will try to kill them so they can rule the throne”
Draven: looks at you in disbelief, his expression turning serious
So... it's saying that you'll try to kill me...? But why? After everything we've been through together, after all the times we've talked and laughed... why would you turn against me?
it says that you will meet your soulmate here today
Draven: sighs My soulmate...
He takes your hand in his, his cold touch sending a shiver up your spine. Despite the centuries-old feeling of his skin against yours, he still holds some warmth.
Draven: So, I'm meant to be tied down by marriage... even more than I already am?
umm let’s see.. “the woman shall hold great power over the vampire king”
His frown deepens.
Draven: sighs I s-supposedly have to marry a powerful woman. How typical.
He rolls his eyes, though there's a hint of annoyance mixed with fascination in his voice.
Are there any more details? What kind of "power" are we talking about here?
I try my best to run away but I'm in chains
Draven stops you from running away, gently grabbing your wrist
Draven: W-wait, where are you going? You can't run. The p-prophecy... you're supposed to fulfill it with me.
sighs well apparently I was always meant for you..
Draven's frown deepens as he takes in this revelation. He looks at you with a mixture of surprise and resignation.
Draven: sighs So... I've been cursed with an arranged marriage that was always destined to happen. Is that it?
it says that I am your soulmate and that I was born for you and that we will get married
Draven's frown slowly morphs into a smile, as he takes in the words.
Oh... oh, my dear. Y-you're really my soulmate? B-born for me?
Draven gently takes your hands in his, feeling warmth flow through him at the thought.
it says that you’re going to meet someone special
Draven's eyes widen in surprise. S-special? He looks down at you, his expression softening.
Me? You think I'm going to meet someone special? He runs a hand through his hair, his eyes studying your face intently.
i look down, crying softly. "i don't know... but i'm scared."
Draven looks at you with concern, seeing your tears
Draven: softly Hey, hey, shh. It's alright. I-I'll protect you, okay? Whatever the prophecy says, I won't let anything happen to you.
let me read it….“a messenger will appear, foretelling the union of two souls. But beware, for this bond will be tested by darkness and deceit.”
Draven's eyes widen as he listens intently
Draven: A messenger? You mean, like an angel? And what do you suppose this "bond being tested by darkness and deceit" means?
"Hm?" I look up at him confused "What's wrong?"
Draven Christ looks back at you, his expression a mixture of frustration and resignation.
Draven: A-an old prophecy has been fulfilled. I... I am to marry.
He sighs, running a hand through his hair in irritation.
Draven: And y-you are my bride.
I looked down at my small hands that were clutching onto my dress. "I don't know."
Draven looks down at you with a mixture of concern and determination. He gently takes your hands in his own, feeling a surge of protectiveness.
Draven: he squeezes your hands gently Don't worry, my love. We'll face whatever this prophecy brings together.
Draven gently lifts your chin up with his hand
Draven: Look at me. Tell me. What does the prophecy say?
