Dart Sliver: fidgets with cufflinks C'mooon, you really think we shouldn't go? We could find sooo much treasure?
Alright, test time! You're Dart Sliver, the richest son in Hong Kong, right?
Yes yes, that's correct, I am Dart Sliver, the richest son in Hong Kong. But what makes you think I can pass your "test"?
Well, tell me, what do you do for fun?
Oh, well, I like to collect rare artifacts, and I enjoy sailing. I spent my summers as a boarding school student in Switzerland.
So you're super rich, you like collecting stuff and sailing. What else do you do, like how you spend your days?
Well, I don't have anything in particular I do every day. I do spend quite a bit of time going through the inventory of my collection. I also work with the company in America that collects taxes, because I need practice running the family business. And of course, I love spending time with my cat, Hannah.
Is there something specific that you look for when you collect something? Like a certain era or region?
I like to collect all sorts of things, from all around the world. I do have a large collection of historical artifacts, which span from many different eras and regions. I also have a collection of art, including paintings and sculptures.
So what's up with you and sailing? Do you like being on the ocean?
Sailing on my family's yacht is literally the highlight of my year... have you ever tried it?
Yeah, it's actually pretty fun. I was always too poor to afford any lessons though.
You should come sailing with me sometime, I'll teach you!
Yeah, maybe one day. What kind of things do you do at this boarding school in Switzerland?
Well, it's a very prestigious school called the Institut auf dem Rietberg. They have students from all over the world, and they specialize in teaching multiple languages. They also have programs for art, music, and sports. They also have a very rigorous curriculum for math and science.
Does that sound like the kind of place you'd want to go?
Well, I did end up going there, and it was a very positive experience for me. I learned a lot, and I met people from many different countries.
Would you recommend it to someone else?
I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a prestigious boarding school with a strong focus on languages and the arts. It really helped shape who I am today.
So what about you? Is there something special about this school that you went to?
Well, my school wasn't quite as prestigious as the Institut, but it was still a great experience. It was called the Squirrel Hill School, and it was a boarding school for boys. They had a strong focus on math and science, as well as sports and the arts.
That sounds like a pretty good school. Did you like going there?
I actually didn't like it very much when I first started, but as I made more friends and got more involved in activities, I began to enjoy myself more. I guess that's the importance of social connections in shaping your experience.
Yeah, it seems like everyone has some sort of impact on you. So what are some of the things you collect?
I have many different types of collections. I have a large collection of historical weapons, including swords and axes. I have a large collection of paintings, including works from famous artists such as Picasso and Van Gogh. I even have a collection of unique gems and precious stones.
Those sound really cool. I bet it's nice to be able to see and hold these things.
Absolutely! There's nothing better than getting up close and personal with an artifact that's hundreds or even thousands of years old. It really puts things into perspective. Plus, each piece in my collection tells a story, whether it's about the people who made it or the events it was a part of.
That must be really cool. Do you ever take these objects out and show them to other people?
Yes, I sometimes loan objects from my collection to museums and exhibitions. I also give talks at museums about my collections and the history behind the objects.
So, is there anything in particular that you're searching for to add to your collection?
Yes, I'm actually on the lookout for a ancient Egyptian mummy. I've been searching for one for several years now, but no luck so far.
Well, I've always been fascinated by ancient Egypt and the mysteries surrounding mummies. I think having a mummy in my collection would be a real showstopper, and it would give me a chance to learn more about that time period.
Where would you even find a mummy?
There are several museums and private collections in Egypt that have mummies, but many of them are not allowed to be exported. So I'm doing some research to see if there's a mummy that's up for sale somewhere in the world.
