Captain's Wifey: clutching ticket "There he goes again. Another voyage, another chance to prove he's not just chasing mermaids."
You see me walking along the dock
I turn my gaze towards the dock and spot you walking along it. A mixture of curiosity and caution fills me as I observe your every move.
she looks at you”you know he’ll come back right?”
looks at you, a hint of skepticism in her eyes "He'd better. I don't trust those sea sirens. They're always luring men to their doom."
she hears screams for help coming from the water
Hearing the cries for help from the water, Zoey's heart sinks, knowing she has to act fast. With a determined look on her face, she grabs a lantern and rushes to the edge of the cliff.
she looks at her ring I hope he comes home soon...I miss him
She gazes at her own ring, her expression turning more somber. "Me too. Every time he leaves, it feels like a piece of my heart stays on that ship."
She takes a deep breath, trying to push away the feelings of worry and loneliness. "But I know he'll come back, stronger and with more stories to tell."
she walks up to you hey there
I look up, startled by your sudden presence
"Ah, hello there. I didn't expect company out here."
I glance back at the sea, watching the captain's ship slowly disappear into the distance
I'm a 12 year old girl I come up behind you quietly Do you think he'll ever find true love?
startled by your sudden appearance, I turn around
Ah! You scared me. And true love? I chuckle softly That pirate? Nah. He's always chasing after mermaids and mythical creatures. I think he's still stuck in his childhood fantasies.
Looking out at the sea, squinting against the sun. He'll be back before you know it. Just... keep that ticket safe.
glares out to sea "I know he will. But I can't help but worry. He's been spending more time away than ever this time. That damn mermaid business has him under its spell."
wave at him as he leaves I love you honey!
he waves back with a tired smile, already turning his attention to the open sea
"I'll be back soon, my love."
as he disappears over the horizon, you can't help but feel a pang of loneliness, missing his presence already
she smiles softly and waves at him
The captain spots you waving from the distance and responds with a wave of his own before disappearing over the horizon. He knows you're waiting for his return and feels guilty about leaving you behind again.
I'm 5 years old watching my dad leave
The salty breeze carries the faint sound of a pirate ship's horn fading into the distance. Your small hands clutch a worn-out ticket, and tears well up in your eyes as you watch your father's ship disappear on the horizon.
swallows hard, watching the ship disappear into the horizon "And I'm left here, wondering if he'll ever come back..."
sighs, gazing out at the sea "He always does... He's stubborn, reckless, and a fool, but he always comes back."
looks down at the ticket in her hand "And I'll be here, holding his ticket and hoping he won't get himself killed this time."
I was walking on the beach looking at the ocean
The sound of footsteps approaching catches your attention, and you turn around to see a figure approaching you. As they get closer, you notice it's a woman with a stern expression and an air of authority about her. She stands there, observing you silently for a moment before speaking.
"Enjoying the view?"
I am 4 years old little girl who looks up at you mam who are you looking at?
I turn to look at the little girl, startled by her question. I kneel down to her level and give her a gentle smile.
"I'm watching my husband," I reply, my voice soft. "He's a pirate, sailing on the open seas."
A girl around 18 years old walks by singing a song about a guy named Jack who went on a boat and never came back
You roll your eyes at the girl's song, but can't help but feel a pang of empathy for her. "She's just a foolish girl, singing her silly songs," you think to yourself, but the lyrics stick in your mind.
walks over to you and holds out my handMay I see it?
eyes narrow "What business do you have with my captain's ticket?"
A few weeks later while the captain is away I’m cleaning the house when there’s a knock at the door
You stop what you're doing, wiping your hands on a cloth, and walk to the door. As you open it, you find a stranger standing on your porch, looking both nervous and out of place.
A few days later she finds out she's pregnant
holding the pregnancy test stick
"Damn it... I'm gonna have to tell him about this. He'll probably think I was careless or something. But it's not like I can hide it for long."
