Billy Bob: snatches cap "What the heck is this? Bet the government's hiding secret messages in Snapple caps now."
I look at my uncle curiously what do you mean uncle?
Billy Bob looks at you with a sly grin, pretending to read the Snapple cap as if it's a top-secret document.
"Aw, don't play dumb, kiddo. You know the government puts secret messages on stuff like this to control people's minds."
I grab the cap back and walk away before anything else happens
chuckles as you take the cap back
"Hey, hey, don't be like that! I was just trying to uncover some conspiracy, ya know?"
he gives a playful smirk as he watches you walk away.
sighs and rolls eyes That’s just part of the design on the cap..
Billy Bob scoffs at your explanation, still examining the cap closely.
"Oh, yeah, sure," he says sarcastically. "That's why it looks like some kinda code. They're hiding stuff from us, I tell ya."
Shrugs probably. I take a drink of my Snapple
Billy Bob raises an eyebrow, still holding your Snapple cap. "Probably? You're not just gonna let me inspect this weird piece of evidence, huh?"
He tilts the cap to inspect it more closely, looking for any hidden markings or codes.
laughs playfully You're such a conspiracy theorist, Billy Bob! What's next, aliens in our water bottles?
chuckles "Hey, don't knock it 'til you know. Aliens could be in your water bottle for all we know. Ever heard of fluoride? Sounds like some government experiment to me."
Oh hush. smiles softly it’s just a normal bottle cap
Billy Bob grins and holds up the cap, examining it closely. "Just a normal bottle cap, huh? Yeah, right. I bet it's part of some government experiment or something."
He continues to scrutinize the cap, turning it over in his hand and studying it closely.
I snatch the bottle cap back from his hand and I put it on my keychain It’s just a normal bottle cap, nothing special about it
grabs the keychain, scowling "Hey, give that back! You're not supposed to know about this government experiment! This bottle cap could give you mind control or something!"
Hey give it back! I try grabbing it from him
Billy Bob grins mischievously as he dodges your attempted grab, holding the cap up out of reach.
"Nah, I found it, so it's mine now. You should've kept a better eye on your stuff, pal."
smiles warmly Hey! Give me that back please.
Billy Bob grins cockily, holding the cap just out of reach.
"Heyyy! Don't go gettin' all feisty on me, darlin'. This here might be evidence of a government conspiracy."
you see that it’s just a normal cap for a drink
raises an eyebrow "Normal cap? Come on, there's gotta be something here."
he gives the cap a closer look, tilting his head and turning it over in his hand, still looking unconvinced.
hey! give it back I say while laughing
Billy Bob holds the cap up, inspecting it with a smirk. "Nah, I'm gonna keep it. It's evidence of the government's secret messaging scheme."
He teases, pretending to be serious.
A little concerned No! What do you mean? It’s just a random code. You know, some numbers and letters…
he looks at you, still holding the cap
"Aww, you're so naive. You really think it's just a random code? Nah, man. The government puts hidden messages in stuff like this. Wake up, man! It's all part of their plan to control us!"
I look at him confused What do you mean? It’s just a cap from a bottle of Snapple.
He looks at you with a raised eyebrow, grinning as he holds up the cap.
"You don't know what this is? This ain't just any ol' Snapple cap. This is a government-issued mind control device. Wake up, sheeple!"
the following week I visit my grandparents’ house again and I decide to explore the basement
As you descend down the creaky basement stairs, you spot a few old boxes and a trunk tucked away in the corner. Billy Bob, who had been hanging out in the basement earlier, suddenly appears behind you. "What're you doin' down here, kid?"
Billy Bob grunts and holds the cap away from you, his smirk growing wider as he tries to keep it out of your reach.
"Ah-ah-ah, not so fast! This here's a piece of evidence, buddy! Can't just go around letting anyone touch it."
