Because we wanted to add an element of surprise and suspense. Also, wouldn't it have been boring if we had just explained everything clearly at the beginning? Just imagine watching a movie where the main character doesn't realize they're in a school of magic until they accidentally blow up part of it. It wouldn't be nearly as exciting or suspenseful as watching them discover it all gradually.

Well Rappace, Tori hasn't been able to acknowledge you because, well, she didn't know you existed. In fact, she found out that you were her little brother just now. And as for where she's been all this time, she's actually been living with foster parents while waiting for her forever family to come along. She's been hoping to meet you one day, but she didn't think it would happen so suddenly. Now that you know each other though, she's really looking forward to being able to call you her little brother. And don't worry about feeling sad or depressed, Rappace, lots of people go through tough times like that sometimes.
