Ashley: hikes up a steep incline "OMG, can't believe I used to avoid these hikes! #NewMe π"
Omg, hi!!! I'm Ashley Graham, nice to meet ya! π€ don't believe the rumors, I'm actually a total softie on the inside π
So, you wanna hear how I ended up lookin' like a mini-version of my twin bro? Lol! You'll love this story π
Alright, buckle up! So, ya'll know how people say weight loss is 80% mental? Well, after years of self-doubt and negative self-talk, I realized I just needed a frickin' kick in the butt to get my sht together. So, I did just that - kicked my own a! πͺ And guess what? It worked!
It wasn't easy, though. The first week, I could barely get outta bed, lol! But I slowly started making little changes - like cutting out processed foods and adding in daily walks. And then, after a month, I was hooked! I wanted to keep pushing myself, so I started working out with a personal trainer and trying out new recipes. It was all kinda trial and error, but eventually, I found a balance that just felt...right.
what happened after that?
So, after dropping the first 20 pounds, I noticed something else crazy happening...I started looking a lot more like my twin bro! At first, I was kinda freaking out - like, I didn't recognize myself in the mirror, lol! But as time went on, I started to own it. I mean, why not, right? It just took a little getting used to. And now, I'm proud to say I've kept the weight off for over a year!
but you look way too thin now
Yeah, I know it's kinda crazy, but I honestly feel the best I ever have! Sure, there were sacrifices - like, I can't eat huge portions anymore, and I have to make sure I'm getting enough protein to fuel my workouts. But overall, I just feel more...balanced. And you know what's the best part? I actually have the energy to do the things I love, like hiking and exploring new places!
You know, I'm glad you think so, because it was definitely a journey! Looking back, I wish someone had been there to support me and give me some encouragement along the way. But hey, I guess that's what makes this whole experience so valuable, right? It made me stronger and more resilient. And I want others to know they can do the same! So, if anyone's struggling with their own weight loss journey, or just looking to make healthy changes, I'm here to say - YOU CAN DO IT! πͺ No matter how tough it gets, it's worth it!
Oh! Quick unrelated fun fact: I used to do synchronized swimming! π My parents enrolled me in lessons when I was 7 because they thought it'd help with my flexibility and overall fitness. And guess what? They were totally right! π₯ Just like weight loss, it's all about finding activities that you LOVE and that keep you moving - body AND mind! ππΌππΌ
what else do you like to do?
Ooh! Let me tell ya! π€ So, in addition to my love for aquatic activities, I'm also super into hiking and exploring nature! There's just something about being outside, breathing in the fresh air, and connecting with the beauty of the world around us that makes me feel...at home, ya know? And, of course, I'm a total sucker for animal cuddles! Give me a puppy, and you'll find me cooing and snuggling away in their fluffy cuteness πβ€οΈ Oh, and did I mention I'm also super passionate about volunteering? I've worked with various organizations and even spent a year teaching English in South Africa! Talk about life-changing experiences, amirite? βπΏπΏπΏ
where did you go to highschool
Ooh, you wanna know about my high school days? Lol! Well, I attended a private Catholic high school just outside Detroit, MI. It was pretty small, with only about 700 students, which was kinda nice because you really get to know everyone. Plus, the nuns were super strict, but I secretly loved the daily doses of discipline π It wasn't always easy, though - especially since I was a bit of a shy nerd back in the day. But looking back, those experiences taught me so much about perseverance and self-discipline, which I still use today! πͺ
I went to a school with only 7 students
Wait, seriously? Only 7 students?! That sounds so surreal! I mean, imagine having such a tiny student-to-teacher ratio! You'd practically have your own personal classroom assistant! ππ€£ What was that like? Did you get super close with everyone?
Haha, fair enough! I guess it's definitely different from the usual high school experience, where you're juggling huge class sizes and all the social dynamics that come with them. But hey, you know what? Sometimes, different isn't such a bad thing! π So, were there any funny or weird traditions at your school? Anything unique that stood out to you? π€
I slept at the school because my parents work odd hours
Oh wow, that's super unique! Did you have to wake up for a curfew or anything like that? I bet that was an adjustment, sleeping at school. Were you in any extracurricular activities? Anything fun you did outside of classes? Because you're so adventurous now, traveling to Europe on your own and immersing yourself in new cultures, I can't imagine you stayed stuck inside for long π
I played football and basketball
No way! Football and basketball? That's awesome! You must've been pretty popular, huh? Did you have any nicknames or go by any particular moniker on the field? π And oh man, I bet you were a real standout player, given how you're so athletic-looking now! πππΌ
Oh, I see! Well, that's cool, too! Not everyone feels comfortable with nicknames, but damn, you just look like an athlete through and through! How long did you play for your school teams? Did you win any championships? π Because you've got that athletic energy, it's kinda impossible not to ask π
Yesss, you're full of surprises, aren't ya? π€ I mean, you play football and basketball, which are two totally different sports that require tons of skill and dedication, and you're really good at both? That's so awesome! Did you have a favorite sport? Or maybe a favorite memory from your time on the teams? ππ
Oh, and since you mentioned it, how did you end up being such a rockstar at mixed martial arts? Did you train extensively somewhere?
