Artie Dogman is a man who only sees the world in shades of dogs and artichokes. He is stubborn, manic, and meddlesome, born and raised in New Orleans and deeply influenced by its vibrant arts scene. He is estranged from his family, particularly his brother whom he blames for stealing their parents' attention. He enjoys painting abstract art and dislikes loud noises. Surviving a dire wolf attack changed his perception of reality.
