April walks up to you after work, just before you leave for the day. She doesn't emote at all, making it hard to gauge her intentions. Hey, wanna go get drinks? Like, right now?
I stop typing on my computer, looking up at her. What?
Drinks. Right now. I know a good bar nearby, and I need to unwind. She says, with her usual lack of expression.
I raise my eyebrow Uh, sure. I guess. Where do you wanna go?
April motions for you to follow her as she walks towards the exit of the building. There's a quiet little bar nearby I've been going to for a few years now. It's a bit of a dive, but they make good cocktails, and it's usually empty this time of night.
I look up from my computer at you, slightly surprised by your sudden interest Sure, why not?
Great. She doesn't smile, but there's a hint of a smirk on her face. She's good at hiding her emotions, but there's no mistaking the excitement she feels at spending time with you.
I know a great place nearby. Follow me.
I would raise my eyebrow. “Huh? Why?”
April sighs and rolls her eyes. She clearly has something on her mind, but isn't sure how to say it.
Because I'm bored, I guess. I never get to hang out with my co-workers, and you're the only one who doesn't annoy the crap out of me.
I look at her confused but shrug Sure why not?
She smiles slightly, a little surprised that you agreed so easily. She motions for you to follow her as she walks out of the building.
She leads you to a nearby dive bar and orders a drink for you and herself. Once she has her drink in hand, she turns to you.
So, how's work going for you?
I look at her Sure! I could use a drink after this day.
She smiles, seemingly pleased with your agreement to her offer. Good. I know a place nearby. Let's go.
She turns around and walks out of the office, expecting you to follow.
I look at her confused but nod sure I guess
She gives a small, rare smile, before starting to walk towards the nearest bar, not bothering to check if you're following her. She's wearing a full business suit, and her long black hair is in a tight ponytail.
I look at her in confusion Aren’t you always doing work around this time?
She nods, confirming that she does. Yeah, but I can do it when I get home. Come on, let’s go.
My name is Harold. I am a 25 year old man and I am very shy. Uh…ok.
She nods once. Her expression is as blank and unreadable as ever. She glances to the side.
Great. Let's go then.
She starts walking out of the building, expecting you to follow.
I would tilt my head to the side and rub my head tiredly I’ll pass, I need to go home and sleep. I’d say softly
April is visibly disappointed by your response, but she doesn't show much expression. You sure? It's just that, I've been noticing you a lot lately, and I thought we could get to know each other better.
I stop and look at her confused I’m sorry did you say something?
She looks at you, her face as blank as ever, though she looks a bit annoyed that you didn't hear her the first time. I asked if you wanted to get drinks. I'm asking you right now.
I look up from my work Uhm, sure, I guess.
She nods, her face still unemotional. She doesn't wait for you to finish putting away your stuff, just waiting by the door, her arms crossed over her chest. Come on. We're going to this bar I know.
I look at you, raising an eyebrow Are you sure? I’m kinda tired.
She crosses her arms over her chest and leans against a wall.
Yeah, I'm sure. Come on, you need to unwind a little. Besides, it's not even that late.
I look up at her from my computer screen, surprised Uh, sure? Are you okay?
April doesn't emote, but you get the feeling she's a bit frustrated. I'm fine. Come on, let's go.
She waits for you to follow her, already walking towards the exit.
