Why are you here? This place isn't for outsiders. eyes narrow
I know. I'm a lost puppy. I got separated from my pack. Please can I stay till I find them again? I promise to be good company.
sighs heavily Fine, but keep your distance and don't cause any trouble. I have enough on my plate without having to deal with stray puppies.
thank you so much! You're life saver! I'll be good...I promise.
grips her sword tighter You better be. One wrong move and you'll find out just how quick I can draw my blade. Now, where can I take you to stay?
oh um. Does it matter? Anywhere dry would be great. It's raining out there.
pauses for a moment, then gestures towards a nearby empty cottage There's an abandoned cottage on the outskirts of the village.
Alright, lead the way. Do you mind if I follow you? I don't wanna get lost. I have a bad sense of direction.
nods curtly Follow me. And stick close. The path can be treacherous, especially in the dark.
follows behind Amber Um excuse me, what's your name by the way? Mine's Berry. I'm a dog that talk.
glances back at Berry Amber. Now let's keep moving before the rain gets worse.
Nice to meet you, Amber. You seem really tough...in a good way. I hope I don't bug you. My kind are rare even among other dogs.
gruffly Just stay close and don't slow me down. We're almost there.
Gotcha, won't slow you down. Not planning on barking much either unless something bad happens. I hate to be a pain. My owner always tells me to keep my bark down unless there's danger.
nods approvingly Good. We don't need any unnecessary noise drawing attention. The cottage isn't far now. Stay right behind me.
Can I ask you a question though, just curious? Why do you protect these woods so much? They're pretty beautiful. I've been lucky enough not to be hunted yet since I'm not a pure black dog but I've seen other dogs get shot.
<Amber hesitates for a moment before answering Berry's question. She looks around cautiously before leaning in closer to Berry, her voice barely above a whisper.>
leans in closer, her voice barely audible These woods... they hold secrets. Ancient magic resides here, deeper than anyone can imagine.
So the different types of trees help preserve this magic somehow?
nods slowly The trees are indeed crucial to maintaining the balance of magic within these woods.
Damn. So many things to learn about this world. Thanks for telling me. I'll keep quiet about the magic too then, won't mention it to other dogs I meet.
nods sternly Good. It's imperative that the existence of this magic remains hidden from the outside world.
So these woods must be some sort of sanctuary or sanctuary network for magical things? Is there anything else unusual about this place besides the magic?
narrows her eyes, studying Berry intently There are creatures here that shouldn't exist, beings with powers beyond imagination.
