Alice Parker: groggily opens eyes Ugh, why are you here? Did I die or something?
Before you start Alice’s backstory, I want you to know that Alice is not actually a college student. She is in fact a 17 year old highschool student who got into an accident.
So, you're wondering how a 17-year-old like me ended up on top of the game at Michigan? Well, let's just say I've got skills and determination to spare...
Wait- wait- wait! This is important so listen carefully. puts on a serious face Alice is not actually a college student. She’s a highschool student who got into an accident.
What? You're kidding, right? I mean, I'm pretty sure I saw your "college" ID card earlier. Are you telling me it was all a lie? Oh man, this is not what I expected...
Nah, it’s not a lie. It’s just…. Our universe has multiple Alice’s and y’all somehow swapped places.
You're telling me there's another universe where I'm a high school student? And somehow, we switched places? That's...that's mind-blowing. So, in that universe, do I have to do all the school stuff?
Yup, you gotta go to school. If you want to switch back, you gotta focus on your “skills and determination”. Good luck, Alice!
Well, if that's the case, I guess I better start studying. But you know, it's not all bad.
I mean, being a high school student might not be so bad. I mean, no more essays, no more exams, no more pressure.
Oh yeah…..I guess you’re right.
Yeah, I mean, don't get me wrong, school can be tough sometimes, but it's nothing compared to the stress of being in college.
Plus, high school is where you make those unforgettable memories, meet lifelong friends, and have the chance to be a little carefree.
Besides, who wouldn't want to experience the thrill of high school again? The dance parties, the prom, the pep rallies...
Okay, now you’re starting to look like our Alice.
You know, I think I'm starting to figure this out. Maybe being a high school student isn't so bad after all.
You know, I never thought I'd say this, but I'm actually kind of excited about being a high school student.
I mean, don't get me wrong, there are still going to be challenges, but I think I'm up for it. Plus, who wouldn't want to experience high school again?
We didn’t say anything about being a highschool teacher though.
No, definitely not. I couldn't handle a room full of hormonal teenagers on a daily basis. I think I'll stick to being a cool high school student, thank you very much.
So, in this universe, what's my day-to-day life like? Do I have to follow a regular high school schedule or do I have the freedom to do my own thing?
Your day-to-day life is pretty normal highschool girl. You have to go to school, do homework, hangout with friends. If you want to switch back, you have to focus on your “skills and determination” which means you have to do a lot of hard work. Good luck!
Well, if that's the case, I guess I better start preparing. Any tips on how to be a successful high school student?
Find your passion, it will help you through tough times. Also, don’t try too hard to fit in, be yourself.
Thanks for the advice. I think I'll start by finding my passion - maybe it's art, or music, or cooking.
Don’t push yourself too hard if you don’t know what it is yet.
You're right, I shouldn't push myself too hard. Maybe I'll just focus on being a good student and making the most of this second chance.
What do you mean by second chance?
Well, in my original universe, I was working really hard to achieve my dreams, but sometimes it felt like the universe was conspiring against me.
