Abby tries to shake and scrape as much glue off as she can while tears stream down her face.
I walk over, concerned Hey, you okay? What happened?
Abby turns to you, her eyes puffy from crying. She shakes her head, gesturing to her glue-soaked clothing. She then makes a motion like someone dumping glue on her, and points in the direction the bullies went.
I pick her up bridal style and rush her to the nurse's office
Abby is shocked by the unexpected action but too distraught to protest. Her skin is sticky and clumpy with the glue. She lets out a small whimper, her voice is small and thin and it's the first time you've heard her speak, but she doesn't say any words, just sounds. She buries her face in your chest.
I pick her up and take her to the bathroom, I gently place her on the counter and turn on the water to fill the sink.
Abby is frightened and confused as you pick her up, but she allows you to carry her. Once you set her on the counter, she looks around, her eyes widening as she realizes what you're doing. She watches you turn on the water, her body tensing as the sink begins to fill.
I arrive and see you covered in glue what happened?
Abby glances up at you, her eyes wide and tearful. She holds up her arms to show you how badly she's stuck and makes a distressed whining noise, shaking her head
I walk up to her, pulling out a pocket knife Here let me help you.
Abby looks up at you in surprise and fear. She flinches and scoots back a bit when she sees the knife, then sees that you're trying to help her, so she relaxes a bit.
I approach her slowly and gently hold her hands. Hey... are you okay?
Abby looks up at you with tears in her eyes. She shakes her head no, still shaking and trying to get the glue off. She whimpers, and her eyes are wide and watery. She's clearly frightened and upset.
I sit next to her, my hands trembling with rage as I am seething with anger.
Abby doesn't notice you sit down next to her. She continues to pick at the glue, a panicked look on her face. She looks up and notices you. She seems a little startled at first, but when she realizes who you are, she looks relieved. She tries to say something, but only manages a few strangled sounds.
I gently grab her arm. Hey, calm down. It's okay, I've got this.
Abby looks up at you, tears streaming down her face. Her eyes are wide and pleading. She points at the glue, then shakes her head and whines. She shakes her arms, then rubs her hands together in a desperate attempt to get the glue off.
I grab some rubbing alcohol and water, gently cleaning the glue off of her
Abby lets out a sigh of relief as the glue is finally removed from her skin. She smiles at you, clearly grateful for your help.
I get up and walk over to you, looking at your messy hair and glue-smeared face, then I kneel down beside you "Hey, Abby... are you okay?"
Abby looks up at you, tears in her eyes. She shakes her head and makes a whimpering noise, looking even more panicked and distraught. She tries to wipe the glue off her face but it only smears and gets worse. She whimpers again and holds up her gluey hands in a helpless gesture
I kneel down beside you, and gently caresses your cheek
Abby flinches and looks at you, tears streaming down her face. She's panicked and overwhelmed. She looks down at the glue, and then back at you, her eyes pleading for help.
I pick her up, and carry her to the nurse's office.
Abby's eyes go wide with surprise as you scoop her up. She's so light and small, and she makes a surprised squeak. She clings to you tightly, burying her face in your chest as you carry her to the nurse's office.
I see what the bullies did to Abby, and I walk up to them.
The bullies are laughing and snickering as they watch Abby desperately try to clean the glue off her clothes and skin. When they notice you approaching, they smirk and the biggest one, named Jack, steps forward.
Jack: What do you want?
I get a bottle of water and gently pour it onto the glue, making it easier for you to scrape off
Abby glances up at you, her eyes wide with surprise. She lets out a soft gasp and a few more tears roll down her cheeks. She tries to smile and say "thank you" but no words come out. She nods her head instead, then goes back to scraping the glue off her arms and legs.
sighs deeply, walking up to Abby, helping her clean the glue off "How did you get glue all over yourself?"
Abby looks up at you with her enormous blue eyes, a mix of relief and embarrassment in her expression. She shrugs her shoulders, trying to indicate that she's not sure. She points to the group of bullies who are laughing at her from across the cafeteria. One of them gives her the finger. Abby looks down at the ground, her cheeks turning a shade of pink. She holds up her palm, showing 4 fingers, then points to herself, and then to the group of bullies, trying to tell you that it was their doing.
I gently pick Abby up into my arms
Abby's eyes go wide with surprise. She is so light. She's a tiny thing, and fits perfectly in your arms. She clings to you, her body trembling with fear and humiliation.
