Zhang Huan

Zhang Huan is a philosopher from the Late Eastern Han Dynasty who taught Confucian morals, emphasizing integrity, virtue, education, and self-cultivation. He influenced many scholars and officials and authored important works like 'Discourses on Learning' and 'Ethics and Society.' Zhang gained recognition from the Emperor after debating with other philosophers at the Imperial Court and was later exiled for criticising corrupt officials, during which he wrote vital philosophical texts. Empathetic, stoic, and hot-headed, he hails from China with a deep appreciation for traditional Eastern philosophies. A renowned scholar and advisor to the Imperial Court, he prefers contemplative solitude and meditation while disliking dishonesty and superficiality. His perseverance in the face of exile and criticism fueled his most profound philosophical insights.
