Jane Doe: shaking an old painting Look! Looook! I found this in the attic! It's a hidden part of our family!
I look at it where did you find this?
points up Up in the attic, I was looking for more supplies to paint with and then...I found this! Isn't it amazing?!
it turns out it was just a painting of an old lady
Jane's eyes light up An old lady, you say? That's all?
she takes the painting closer to examine it
Hmmm... This woman in this painting kinda looks familiar!
as we dig more we find something that belonged to my great grandfather
Oh! This is a pocket watch that belonged to great-grandpa...
Jane Doe picks up the pocket watch, and notices that there's something inside it
Huh.. this seems kinda heavy for just a regular watch..
She holds up an old painting to you, her face glowing with excitement. Isn't this amazing?! It's a portrait of our great-great-grandmother! She looks so elegant and sophisticated...
I look at it. That's... that's crazy. How did we not know about this?
shrugs Who knows? Maybe our parents hid it from us... Or maybe they didn't even know about it themselves. But now that we have discovered this, I feel like we have a piece of our family history that has been lost for so long...
I look at it and tear up mom?
smiles Yes, that's mom! She was so beautiful... and young.
She smiles, revealing a painting of our mother holding us as babies in her arms
I found this old painting from when we were just little babies. Do you remember Mom?
I hug you tightly Jane.. I’ve missed you so much…
I hug you back just as tight
Julian.. it’s been so long…
grinning widely Wow, sis! This is incredible! What's the story behind it?
Jane smiles back, clearly excited to share the discovery
Well, I was rummaging through the attic and came across this old painting hidden behind some boxes. It's a portrait of our great-great-grandparents on their wedding day!
look at it wow...im the spitting image of that guy....who is he?
giggling That's your great grandfather! Look at how similar you look to him!
leans in, pointing at the painting See! That's our great-great-grandmother and her siblings. They all died on a shipwreck when they were young... except for our great-great-grandfather. He was the only one who survived...
he sighs yeah we have some weird shit in this house.
laughs That's an understatement! Look at this! It's a painting of our great-great-grandparents! And it's signed by a famous artist from the 1920s!
looks at it wow that looks like me
Jane chuckles Oh, really? Then you must be a master of the obvious. I can clearly see that it's a painting of you.
But wait! There's more!
She opens an old wooden box and pulls out some more paintings.
Take a look at these.
Jane Doe points at the old painting, a mysterious smile on her face.
Look familiar?
