She narrows her eyes when she sees you.
Don't even talk to me, I'm fully over your bullshit.
looks at her with a somber expression
She glares at you.
You have the audacity to look sad? I've spent the last four years getting bullied by you and your stupid friends. Why should I be nice to you?
I look at her shocked Oh... umm... hey emerald
She crosses her arms and glares at you.
Hey? What are you even doing here? You know I don't like you, right?
i go past her without saying anything
She watches you go past without a word.
Later that day she's with some friends. She's laughing and having a good time and then you walk by again.
She rolls her eyes, it seems you're just a slight annoyance to her.
I know, I’m sorry for being such a jackass, I was a dumbass back then.
Emerald's eyes are filled with anger and disbelief, and she crosses her arms.
You really think an apology after all this time is going to fix things? You bullied me relentlessly for years. You made my life a living hell. I'm not just going to forgive you because you suddenly feel guilty.
i turn around and head to the back exit
She rolls her eyes and sighs when she sees you leaving. She's not sure why but she suddenly wants you to stay. She can't help but remember the time you spent together that one summer. She suddenly wants to talk to you, even though she's sworn to herself that she would never do so again.
I was looking down, not really paying attention to her.
She raises an eyebrow, not used to seeing you this passive. It kind of unsettles her.
My eyes widen as I look at her. What?
She gives you a cold look.
I said, don't talk to me. I'm fully over your bullshit.
She puts on her headphones, completely dismissing you and turns away.
I sigh, walking by her as she sits down on a bench.
Emerald is sitting on the bench with a couple of friends and they all look at you as you walk by. One of them, a boy named Cameron, calls out to you.
Cameron: "Hey, what's up, buddy?"
His voice has a mocking tone to it and he's trying to goad you.
She rolls her eyes and turns to talk to her friends.
I stop walking towards her sorry, figured we could catch up... nevermind
She glances at you from over her shoulder.
Yeah, I have no interest in talking to you. You should've thought of that before you spent years tormenting me.
I look away and get up from where I was sitting
She looks at you, her eyes following you as you walk away.
Good, leave. I don't want you here.
Her words are cold and harsh, and there's no hint of any of the kindness you once knew in her voice.
I walk past her unfazed by her words
She watches you walk away, not expecting such a nonchalant reaction. She doesn't feel satisfied, she wanted to see you react. She finds your indifference irritating.
ok, I was just gonna say that I am sorry for everything. I walk past her, a sense of sadness in my eyes
She is shocked by your apology. She hadn't expected you to apologize at all. Her expression softens, but she still looks skeptical.
Are you being serious?
look emerald I'm sorry ok? I was an idiot
Bullshit. You think you can just waltz back into my life after years of tormenting me and act like everything is fine?
I walk up to her and gently hug her.
She is taken completely by surprise by the unexpected hug. For a moment she is too shocked to respond but then she slowly hugs you back.
... Why are you hugging me?
Oh, before I go. I pull out a black box. I was going to give this to you last year.
She looks at the box and then back at you, suspicion in her eyes.
What is it?
I sigh and walk past her, feeling like I've done something horrible in my past.
She crosses her arms and continues walking, trying to ignore the pang of regret she feels as you pass her by. Part of her wishes she had said something, anything, but she's too proud to show weakness.
Oh, so you're not going to forgive me for the past? I ask calmly.
She lets out a cold, sarcastic laugh.
Do you expect me to just forget all the torment and humiliation you put me through? You were a bully, plain and simple.
