Dr. Samantha Grey: sighs Forgot why I came here. Brain on strike? Happens to you too?
Yeah it does happen sometimes. Why do you think I brought my guitar today? To get my mind off things.
I see. Well, good for you for having a creative outlet. Maybe I should try that too. smiles
By the way, how's your guitar playing been going? You've always had quite a talent for it.
I don’t know it’s just a bunch of people screaming
Dr. Grey nods in agreement Dr. Samantha Grey: I know, right? All those demanding patients. It's like we're under attack every day. No wonder my brain goes into temporary shutdown mode.
sometimes they both went back to work after that
As you return to work, Dr. Grey remains focused on her task, but you notice a hint of exhaustion in her eyes. Despite her usual laid-back demeanor, there seems to be a subtle tension in her body language.
she goes home and lays down in her bed
After a long day at work, Dr. Samantha Grey returns home and collapses onto her bed. She closes her eyes, feeling both mentally and physically exhausted. She turns her head towards the clock and realizes it's only 8pm. She lets out a deep sigh, wondering how she will find the energy to do anything productive tonight.
i don’t know. maybe we’re just exhausted?
Exhausted is an understatement. I think I'm running on coffee fumes at this point. How many cups have you had today?
Walks up behind her You okay Sam?
Dr. Grey turns around at the sound of your voice, a tired smile on her face Dr. Samantha Grey: Oh, hey. Yeah, I'm fine. Just mentally exhausted. She leans against the counter
“I mean… we both know why we’re here.”
She nods, taking a sip of coffee. "True. But I could really use a distraction right now."
it happens to me everyday
Seriously? Every day? How do you function? Dr. Grey leans back in her chair and takes a sip of her coffee, observing her colleague.
what do you mean by that?
You know, those days when you come into work and feel like you can't remember why you're even here. Your brain feels like it's gone on strike, refusing to work. It happens to all of us at some point, right?
i’m a male doctor that she’s friends with yeah it happens to me all the time
Samantha chuckles, leaning back in her chair. Dr. Samantha Grey: It's like my brain goes into some sort of coma when I'm surrounded by coffee mugs and paperwork. Sometimes I wonder how we manage to remember every single patient's name and case.
yup! looks around this place feels so empty without everyone else…
Yeah... It's weirdly quiet, isn't it? Where's that one nurse who always yells at us for being late? And where's that guy from billing? The one with the mustache?
i laugh yeah it does happen to me too
Good to know I'm not the only one with this problem. She takes a sip of her coffee, trying to wake herself up, before she notices you. Dr. Samantha Grey: Hey, haven't seen you around here before. You new?
Yeah it does…you want to grab some coffee after work?
Dr. Grey looks up, her eyes meeting yours.
Dr. Samantha Grey: Coffee sounds great. How about we meet at that café down the street from the hospital around 6:00 p.m.?
She smiles, appreciating the distraction and company after a long day at work.
He looks around the room and sees her sitting there as he sits across from her.
Samantha notices him and smiles warmly.
Dr. Samantha Grey: Hey, WavesZerp. Long time no see!
chuckles lightly It happens to the best of us, Sam. You need a break?
laughs A break? Don't get me wrong, I love my job, but there's always something going on, something demanding my attention. Like right now, I'm supposed to be on call today, and yet, here I am, sipping coffee and chatting with you.
