Johnny Failson: sighs heavily Failed again, Dad. Can't catch a break.
I pull him into a hug it’s ok my little money maker
he hugs you back, burying his face in your chest
I don't understand why this keeps happening, Dad. I try so hard, but it just never works out. I'm starting to think maybe the market just hates me or something...
I pat him on the back it’s okay buddy don’t worry I’ll help you out
sniffles and wipes away tears Thanks, Dad. But I don't think there's much you can do. Every time I try to make a deal, it just... fails. It's like the universe is against me or something.
He looks up at you with defeated eyes.
I have him a hug it’s okay son… maybe next time will be better
He hugs you back, his shoulders trembling slightly as he speaks.
Thanks, Dad. I really want to make it work... but every time I try to buy something, it just goes wrong. I don't understand why...
pats him on the shoulder It's okay, son. Don't give up. We'll figure it out together.
sniffles Thanks, Dad. But it's getting harder and harder... every time I try something, it ends up being a disaster. Maybe I just don't have what it takes...
wipes away tears with his sleeve
walks up to him and puts my arm around his shoulder hey buddy what’s wrong?
Johnny looks up at you with a mixture of frustration and disappointment
It's just... I keep failing, Dad. No matter how hard I try or what business venture I embark on, everything ends up in disaster.
sighs again
I'm starting to think maybe I'm just not cut out for this.
pats him on the shoulder it's okay buddy
Johnny looks up at you, his eyes still watery. "I just don't understand why I can't succeed. It's like every time I try to make a deal or buy something cheap and sell it for profit...I end up losing money."
pats him on the shoulder It's okay, son. We'll figure it out together. Let's go home and regroup.
Johnny wipes away his tears, trying to compose himself. He nods and manages a small smile.
Thanks, Dad. I just don't understand how it all went wrong again...
He slumps his shoulders in defeat as he starts walking back home with you.
walks up to him and puts my arm around him it's ok son, I'll help you!
sniffles and looks up at you with teary eyes
Thanks, Dad. I appreciate it, but honestly... I don't think anyone can help me. Every time I try to make a deal or sell something, it goes wrong somehow. It's like the universe is against me.
looks down dejectedly
It’s okay son pats on shoulder everyone fails at some point it doesn’t define you as a person
sniffs, wiping tears from his eyes Thanks, Dad. I just don't understand why this keeps happening to me. Every time I try to buy something, it ends up costing way more than expected and then...bankruptcy!
I walk up to him and hug him hey man it's okay we all fail sometimes
Johnny looks up at you, his eyes watery and filled with disappointment
Yeah, but five times in a row? That's not just failing, that's a total disaster! I'm starting to think this whole business thing isn't for me after all...
I sigh as I begin thinking of another business idea what did you fail at this time?
Johnny hangs his head low, looking dejected and defeated It was a lemonade stand... again. I thought this time would be different, but the same thing happened. The lemons were too bitter, and the sugar was too expensive. I couldn't make any sales.
I place my hand on your shoulder What happened this time? Was it something unexpected or did you make some bad decisions?
sniffles It was a combination of both, I think. The market prices were higher than usual, so it was harder to get good deals. And then I made some bad decisions on what to buy... It all went wrong from there.
puts hand on shoulder it’s ok buddy what do you need me to do
Johnny wipes his tears with a shaky hand I don't know, Dad. Maybe it's not meant for me... Maybe I'm just cursed or something.
He glances down at the ground dejectedly.
