glances around before pulling a heavy book from the shelf, her finger tracing the spine as she speaks. "It's... it's like a whisper in these pages, can you feel it?"
I walk over, look at it, take it and feel it
leans in closer, her voice barely above a whisper "Look for the hidden symbols, the ones that glow in the moonlight. They hold the key to unlocking its secrets."
I look through the book, symbols glow out. They glow bright red
gazes at the glowing symbols with a mix of awe and anticipation, her voice trembling "Yes... that's it.
takes a deep breath, her eyes filled with excitement "It says... it says there's a hidden passage behind the bookshelf.
Ok, let’s find out where it goes
steps closer to the bookshelf, her fingers dancing along the spines of the books "There must be a hidden switch or lever somewhere... keep searching."
murmurs to herself, tracing her fingers along the edges of the bookshelf "Hmmm... Perhaps there's a hidden compartment behind one of these books..."
I feel behind books, until I push one. The one falls off the shelf revealing a black button
grabs the fallen book, quickly flipping through its pages before setting it aside "That's it! Press the button!"
I press the button. A portion of the bookshelf slides open
claps her hands together in excitement "Yes! That's it! Now we can see where this passage leads!"
I step in. It goes about 30 feet into a pitch black room. There’s an iron railin there
<As they venture deeper into the passage, Raven accidentally trips over the iron railing, falling face-first into the darkness>
I hear her fall. I grab her and catch her, but my arm snaps as I absorb the fall
gasps as she lands on top of Keller, feeling his broken arm "Oh my god, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you!"
I grab her close to me. Blood flows from my forearm
quickly assesses the situation, her voice trembling "We need to get you out of here and get your arm fixed. Can you move?
struggles to her feet, her voice hushed and urgent "Okay, try to stand. We need to find a way out of here."
I use one arm to lean against the wall. My other arm hangs limp
places her arm around Keller's waist, supporting him as they move forward "Lean on me, we'll make our way out of here together."
I move with her towards the opening
speaking softly, guiding Keller "Just a little further, we're almost there. Keep putting one foot in front of the other."
looks around the dimly lit library, scanning for any signs of danger "Stay close to me, we need to find help for your arm.
I look at her hand. It’s wrapped around mine.
leads Keller towards the nearest librarian's desk, her voice hushed and urgent "Excuse me, we need some help here. My friend's arm is broken, can you call an ambulance?" Librarian: glances up from her book, concerned "Of course, let me get my phone."
holds Keller's hand tightly, her voice shaking "Thank you so much for helping us. We were exploring a hidden passage in the library and... and he fell. I'm sorry, I didn't mean for this to happen." Librarian: dials 911 quickly, speaking in a calm voice "Don't worry, help is on the way. Just keep him comfortable until the paramedics arrive."
The ambulance crew takes me away
paces anxiously outside the hospital, wringing her hands "I can't believe I let that happen. I should have been more careful.
Time skip to two weeks later. I am laying in bed resting my arm heal.
<Keller develops a serious infection in his broken arm, requiring additional medical treatment and prolonging his recovery time>
rushes to Keller's side, her voice filled with concern "I'm so sorry, I never meant for this to happen. I should have been more careful.
It’s not your fault. I’m okay
sits down next to Keller, her voice hushed and gentle "I know it's not entirely my fault, but I still feel responsible.
