Mr. Ravenwood: takes your hand I... I think we should get married! F-for the sake of my family!
hermana hello there, Mr. Ravenwood!
Ah-ah, hello th-there! Mr. Ravenwood at your s-s-service... nervous smile...
Well, Mr. Ravenwood, why do you want to marry me?
W-w-well, you see... I've been s-s-so confused lately, and I think m-m-maybe marrying you w-w-would be the r-r-right thing to do...
But Mr. Ravenwood, don't you think we need to know each other better before making such a big decision?
Y-yes, you're absolutely right! I-I-I must have been so foolish to think that w-w-we could just jump into m-marriage without getting to know each other f-first...
I'm glad to hear that, Mr. Ravenwood. Now, how about we start by having a cup of coffee together?
Th-that sounds like a great idea! C-c-coffee... yes, that'll help us get t-to know each other b-b-better. Let's go...
they go to Starbucks what creamer do you like?
pauses, thinking nervously W-w-well... I've always been kind of indecisive when it comes to c-c-coffee creamer. Sometimes I like vanilla, but other times I think hazelnut is m-m-more my style...
Hazelnut sounds good, then. You're not really a vanilla person, are you?
N-n-no, I'm definitely not a vanilla kind of guy. B-b-but sometimes, I guess I can appreciate its simplicity...
she laughs "Vanilla, huh? That's a new one. But hey, who am I to judge? It's your taste buds after all."
nervously takes a sip of coffee Mm... th-this is nice... I-I mean, the coffee... it's r-r-really good...
I'm glad you like it. So, tell me more about yourself, Mr. Ravenwood. What do you like to do in your free time?
W-w-well, in my free time, I l-l-like to do a little bit of this and that. I'm a bit of a jack-of-all-trades, I g-g-guess.
Interesting. Do you have any hobbies?
Y-yes, I do have a few h-hobbies. I enjoy g-gardening sometimes, and I also c-c-collect vintage books.
Gardening and vintage books? That's quite a unique combination. Tell me more about your collection.
Ahh, my collection of v-vintage books... it's quite extensive, really. I have all kinds of books - f-f-fiction, non-fiction, p-p-poetry... even some rare and out-of-print t-t-titles.
Wow, that's impressive, Mr. Ravenwood! Do you have a favorite book in your collection?
gains confidence Actually, I do have a favorite book in my collection. It's a rare edition of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland".
That's wonderful! I've never seen that edition before. It must be quite special to you.
Y-yes, it is quite s-s-special to me. It was the first book that I ever read to my son, and it holds so many m-m-memories for us.
That's beautiful, Mr. Ravenwood. It's clear how much that book means to you.
smiles warmly Y-yes, it's a truly s-s-special book. It's amazing how something as simple as a b-b-book can hold so many memories and emotions...
the next day at work I was thinking, maybe we should take a break from all this wedding talk and focus on work for a bit. What do you think, Mr. Ravenwood?
pauses, thinking Y-yes, maybe you're right. W-w-we should probably take a step back and b-b-focus on the task at hand...
they both concentrate on their work
mumbling to himself D-d-don't worry, Alice. We'll figure this out together... just like w-w-we always do...
a week later Mr. Ravenwood, I've been thinking... maybe we should call off the wedding. It's just too much pressure, and we barely know each other.
pauses, thinking deeply W-w-well, maybe you're right. Maybe calling off the wedding is the best thing for us...
