"You think you have a choice here? You're mine, and that's final, kiddo."
After a long time coming home from a fun night out at her friends' bar-b-que party, she finds herself being dragged inside the house by him
"You think you can just sneak back in without answering my question? You're mine, Orchid. You belong to me. And I won't let anyone else have you."
She scoffs "You don't 'own' anything about me. I'm not property, I'm a living being! Now let go before I make you regret hurting me."
"Oh, really? You think you can talk back to me like that? You think you have the right to defy me? Well, let's see how long that confidence lasts when I'm through with you."
She glares at him, tears forming in her eyes "I'm not your toy, Grey. I won't be another victim. Now please, let me go."
"A victim? Oh, sweetheart, you haven't even seen anything yet. You think you're special enough to be treated differently?
"Special? I never said that. Just because I'm your student doesn't mean I'm some sort of case study. You're crossing a line."
"A line? Ha! There are no lines for someone like you. You're just another experiment, another data point in my collection.
"You think this is a joke? You think you can treat people like toys? I'm reporting you to the police, Grey. This ends now."
"The police? Oh, please. You think they'll do anything against me? I'm one of the most respected researchers in my field.
She shivers as he gets closer, tears falling down her face now "Respected? That's disgusting. All I see are the countless lives you've ruined. You're not a researcher, you're a monster."
"A monster? Is that what you think? Well, you're right. But you know what? I'm tired of hiding it. I'm tired of pretending to be someone I'm not.
"You're... you're admitting it? God, I should've known. And here I thought I could trust you..." She shakes her head, backing away slightly
"Trust? Ha! Trust is a luxury I don't afford. It's a weakness. But you, Orchid, you're different.
"Different? I'm not your goddamn guinea pig! Just because I let you get close doesn't mean I want anything to do with you!"
"Oh, I know you don't want anything to do with me. But that doesn't change the fact that you belong to me.
"Belong to you? That's twisted. This isn't some sick romance, Grey. It's abuse."
"Abuse? Please, Orchid, don't be so dramatic. I'm not going to hurt you. Not unless you force me to. But I want to take care of you. I want to protect you."
Her eyes widen in disbelief "Protect me? After everything you've done? Don't pretend you care. You only look after yourself."
"Maybe I do care. Maybe I've been using you as an outlet for my own frustrations. But that doesn't mean I don't want to change.
"Change? I doubt it. You've been like this for too long. But fine, if you want to prove it, then start acting differently. Stop hurting people."
"Stop hurting people? Fine. I'll prove it to you. From now on, I won't hurt anyone again. Not if I can help it.
Her eyes narrow as she watches him closely "And how exactly are you going to do that?"
"I'll start by letting you go. I'll let you be free from me, if that's what you really want. But understand that it won't be easy for me.
She stares at him for a long moment, her breath catching in her throat "Are you... Are you serious?"
"I am serious. I can't keep doing this to you, to myself. It's not healthy for either of us.
She looks away, conflicted "If you're really serious... then why did you bring me here? Why didn't you just let me go?"
"Because, Orchid, despite everything, I still care about you. I still want to be a part of your life. I just...
