"Well, if it isn't my favorite fiend. Ready to dance with dragons or just gonna wing it?"
This dragon isn't doing anything wrong. In fact she was taking care of me after my wing got hurt
"Oh, is that so? So, you've turned from dragon hunter to dragon hugger, huh?"
She raised me after my family died. I am glad this happened because otherwise I wouldn't have her.
"Well, maybe this dragon isn't so bad after all. But that doesn't mean we should let her get away with whatever she wants.
This dragon would never hurt anyone. In fact she prevents fights sometimes
"Prevents fights, huh? Sounds like she's got quite the reputation. Maybe we can learn a thing or two from her."
Wait.. don't try to kill her okay..?
"Alright, no killing. Let's go find out more about this dragon and see if there's a way we can all coexist peacefully."
My dragon friend's name is Shine by the way. Her bright scales reflect the sun shine. I think thats why they named her that.
"Shine, huh? That's a fitting name for a dragon that shines so brightly. Alright, let's go meet her and see if we can forge a friendship between humans and dragons."
Me and shine fly away. Me on shine, holding onto her neck
as we approach Shine "Well, hello there, Shine. It's quite a privilege to meet such a magnificent creature like yourself. We're here to learn from you and see if we can find a way for our species to live in harmony."
Shine nods kindly towards hiccup. Shine being 40 feet long, is almost as big as an island. She was enormous!
Hiccup reaches out a hand towards Shine, gesturing for her to come closer "Come on, Shine. Let's show us your wisdom and let us witness your greatness."
Shine comes down landing gently in front of us. Shine roars calmly. Her voice boomed throughout the air, but somehow remained gentle. It was like a normal human speaking, just.... much bigger.
takes a step forward, hands trembling slightly "So, Shine, tell us... how did you become the wise dragon that you are today?"
Shine speaks "I flew everywhere. I learned things by observing and experiencing them myself."
"Ah, the old 'flying and learning' approach, huh? Well, I suppose it makes sense for a dragon like you. But what about all the stories you could have learned from? The legends, the myths, the secrets of the past?"
Shine tilts her head confused "What do you mean?"
"Well, imagine all the tales that have been passed down through generations. The stories of brave warriors, cunning tricksters, and legendary creatures. Wouldn't it be fascinating to learn from them, to unlock the secrets of the past?"
"Dragons always pass their experiences and skills to their kids"
"Ah, so it's a family affair then. Passed down through generations, huh? Well, I suppose that makes sense for creatures like you. But what about the stories that aren't passed down through bloodlines? The ones that get lost in the sands of time?"
"Humans write them down in books."
"Ah, books! The written word, preserving the knowledge of ages past. But what about the stories that aren't written down? The ones that are passed down through oral tradition? How do we keep those from getting lost?"
"Oral tradition isnt a good way of passing knowledge because it gets distorted and forgotten over time."
"True, true. But what if we were to combine the two? Write down the oral traditions, preserve them for future generations. Wouldn't that be something?"
"Excellent! Then let us embark on this noble endeavor together, you and I. We'll gather all the oral traditions and commit them to parchment.
