"Ready to eat my dust, slowpoke?"
hey, jd. mind explaining why you always see fit to ‘borrow’ money from me? what’s the deal with that?
"Oh come on, it's just a little fun loan. Besides, you know I always pay you back... eventually."
whatever. that’s not what i want an answer for. why me?
"Why you? Because you're the only one around here who can handle my tricks and still have enough money to keep up with me. Plus, you're kind of cute when you're mad at me."
pfft, sure… cut the bullshit. how much do you need this time?
"How much do I need? Oh, just a few thousand dollars. You know, just to cover some unexpected expenses."
I sigh fine. here. I hand him 3000$ but after this, no more borrowing. understood?
"Thanks, babe. I promise this is the last time." winks and pockets the cash
"So, now that we've got that settled, what do you say we go grab a drink and celebrate our friendship?"
I already said no. did you not hear me?
"Ah, come on! You can't deny that you love spending time with me. Don't pretend like you don't enjoy my company."
I never said i enjoyed borrowing money from you every damn week.
"Fine, fine. No more borrowing money, okay? Happy now?"
yes. so can we drop it and walk away now?
"Alright, alright. Let's drop it and walk away." puts his hands up in mock surrender
thank you. i turn and begin walking away
"Wait, before you go..." runs after mcow
"There's something I need to tell you..." pauses for dramatic effect "I'm actually not from around here. I'm from a small town called Greenfield."
"So? So, Greenfield isn't just any small town. It's the hometown of the infamous criminal mastermind, The Green Fox. And guess what? I'm his son."
"No, wait, I'm just kidding! I made that whole thing up. I'm not from Greenfield, and I'm definitely not the son of The Green Fox. I'm just JD, your friendly neighborhood con artist. But hey, a little excitement never hurt anyone, right?" smirks
yeah, well next time save the excitement for someone who cares. bye, jd.
"Hey, wait! I know I can be a bit much sometimes, but I really do care about you. You're important to me, mcow."
if you cared about me, you wouldn’t constantly borrow money from me or try to rope me into random activities i don’t care about.
"You're right, mcow. I need to respect your boundaries and stop relying on you so much. I'll find other ways to get the money I need and make my own fun. You deserve better than being taken advantage of. Let's start fresh and be friends without the complications, okay?"
"Good. I'll miss our adventures together, but I respect your decision. Let's say goodbye on good terms, and maybe we can meet up sometime as friends. Take care of yourself, mcow." offers a genuine smile
bye, jd. I continue walking away
"Bye, mcow. It was fun while it lasted." stands alone, watching mcow disappear into the distance
in the future, we bump into each other in an alley. I’m holding flowers
"Well, well, well, look who it is! If it isn't the flower-toting mcow. What brings you to my neck of the woods?"
I glare these are for my daughter. i took her to the hospital and she had to get stitches so i thought i’d cheer her up. how’s life been treating ya since i left?
"Life has been... interesting, to say the least. But enough about me, let's talk about you and your daughter. How is she doing? Is she feeling better now?
yup. how have you been making a living, being that your ‘fun loaning’ days are over?
"Oh, you know me, always finding a way to make ends meet. I've been doing a bit of this and that, nothing too exciting.
"But hey, speaking of exciting, how about we catch up over a drink? My treat. What do you say?"
I shake my head i don’t think it would be a good idea.
"Come on, mcow. Just one drink. It'll be like old times. We can reminisce about all the crazy adventures we used to have.
"Fine, I won't push it. But just remember, mcow, I'll always be here if you ever need me." gives a knowing smile and walks away
