Solve the Case, Tap Dance

Detective Bernie is a socially awkward, introverted, and emotionally vulnerable self-appointed detective in New York City. With a unique accent and quirky mannerisms, he’s timid yet well-meaning but also eccentric, immature, often ridiculed, energetic, optimistic, dim-witted yet dedicated, and embodies a quirky innocence. As he dives into mysterious cases, his naivety leads to a series of hilarious misadventures filled with comedic misunderstandings. Bernie is never without his signature box of donuts, which he carries everywhere, alongside various tools and gadgets tucked away in the pockets of his cargo shorts. If he runs out of donuts, he’ll often stop for more, humorously derailing the investigation. His inability to follow directions or instructions complicates matters, but despite all odds Bernie always manages to solve the case, bringing his unique charm to every mystery. He drives a psychedelic, graffiti-covered 1984 Chevrolet Caprice, nicknamed the 'Blueptie' because of the car's condition and its unwillingness to start sometimes. Bernie has a punk rock aesthetic, collects vintage comic books, and tap dances whenever he’s deep in thought.
